I am absolutely terrified of death. The idea that all of my experiences, all of my thoughts, my emotions, my consciousness as a whole, could just...stop existing, is one of the most horrifying things I can think of.
@CestManan I envy people who have strong faith in their religion. I fucking hate being an atheist. Certainty and confidence in the concept of a benevolent creator who will take care of your immortal soul after death sounds like the most comforting thing one could possess.
@Nevaeh0081 It's why I try to ponder as little as possible about the fate of a human after death. The one and only way to discover what comes next is...well, to die. And therefore I want to remain ignorant to it for as long as I possibly can.
@BlueMetalChick no there is one way, meditation, some call it dying while living, You can experience right here how it feels to die and what exists beyond this world. That is most comforting.
@BlueMetalChick Like I was telling revenant, the reason people fear death is because it is too hard to imagine ourselves NOT existing.
From first person, you can imagine a vacation, work, driving, eating, rocking out, whatever. But trying to imagine yourself dead is like some kind of paradox.
@CestManan that is a paradox and that never happen, you can goto deep slumber but u do wake up eventually. You can never not exist. That is the ultimate truth. Those people who believe in no life after death, well you can say they reincarnate as tree or rock lol sleep for long long time. But thats not how you can exit this creation.
