How do you come up with these gems? @TheOneyouwerewarnedabout

I look at as an opportunity for growth. Maybe I can learn something from them. Maybe I can find a better way. Maybe it's a sign that I should try growing in a different direction (my football career was a lot like that). If nothing else, I can simply stand in awe of the fact that someone is soooo frickin' good at whatever they are good at, seemingly without even trying.
It's the comparison thing that gets me in trouble. There are always people better (and worse) than I am at pretty much everything and focusing on that makes me discouraged (or lazy).

By reminding myself that no matter how better they are at that thing, they cannot be better than I am at not being better.

I take solace in the fact that I am giving my all. That is all that matters

Try not to let it get to me and move on from it by doing the best i can.

Comparison is the thief of joy.

It doesn't matter who you are, what you are doing there is always someone, somewhere better than you. All you can do is set personal targets and try to improve yourself.
Measure yourself against yourself yesterday, not others.

I'm not sad about my answer
SW-User
@Justafantasy better? Lol
Justafantasy · M
@SW-User yes, should never be unhappy about being yourself. Other people can do that enough
Justafantasy · M
@SW-User rather make you laugh then sad. You usually seem pretty cool

By not comparing yourself to others, because if you do that you will always be discouraged, and you’ll be less inclined to do your best at tasks. And your best is all that you can do.

I remind myself why I want/need to do the thing in the first place.

Everyone is good at their own different thing, whatever that is. Better at it than most others. Those that stand out with talent and skills, like playing a musical instrument, etc... got there because they're passionate about it. Try not to compare yourself to others and find out what you're uniquely good at and build from there.

Only thing I'm perfect at is being me

You work harder until you’re better
I used to compare myself with others, sometimes trying to imitate them to get what they got for myself.
Didn't work and got so depressed I wanted to end it all feeling a complete fail in life.
Trying to turn that around and just be myself warts and all.

Because there's always going to be someone better than me in something no matter what I do. Might as well enjoy what I do.
Well, I don't think about it.
Also I don't strive to number one at anything.
So I don't care who is better.

focus on self. what someone else can or cannot do is irrelevant to your experience
That isn't possible! Even if I fail I'm the best!
Iwillwait · M
Use them as a muse to where you want to be.
