what are you struggling with? Usually changing the environment helps, new country, new people, new you
Lostpoet · M
@mysteryespresso I struggle with all of those.

No not at the human core level. It's like altering and enhancing the outside with every manner of whatever, the inside is still aging.
But we can grow. As we age this happens for sure, unless we're stagnant.
Altering your environment and situation can help. Being active and productive can play a huge part as well. Too much idle time is the worst.

Everything is possible, things like losing weight and getting teeth fixed can be transformative. Even getting a good haircut that considers face shape and bone structure can make a huge difference. If depression is caused by a chemical imbalance and that is found and fixed, a person is educated and immersed in the right environment they might be said to become an intellectual but I have known many "book smart" people who didn't have an ounce of common sense and who had terrible social skills so define what an intellectual is 😂
I think when change is transformational, it's no longer the same person you once considered ugly, idiot, depressive. Maybe it's better to treat people with kindness, it's people and maybe that's sufficient to treat them with basic dignity
Those are some very big leaps. Yes people can change but it’s usually more a matter of baby steps, not giving up, having the fortitude to keep on going. And part of that is recognizing progress, no matter how minimal it may seem.

yeah I think so. I've seen people change here. at least their life phases changed quickly. if you want to change as an adult the best way is by deliberately making small changes that you stick to daily.
To a point but not at their core unless they are consistent

These are all different questions. An idiot can turn intellectual to a large degree by studying, an ugly person might become beautiful with surgery, poor people can become rich if their circumstances allow it, some people can be cured for depression but not all. This is so random lol.

people can change when they chose what they let influence them for better or worse

@Lostpoet I think @AdmiralPrune is on to something here...we need to believe and view our own selves as allies, not adversaries. Then practice taking baby steps toward each one of our goals....also ready to accepting it's not a straight line, and not to be discouraged by mistakes or failures cause by internal or external factors...make sense? Hang in there.

Not all mentally handicapped people think they are handicapped
Not ugly people think they are ugly.
Not all poor people think they are poor.
Not all depressed people really think they depressed.
So all that's involved in changing is your perspective.
