I like my name, though some days I find it hard to live up to it.
It's a Christian name traditionally, but it was given to me because of my grandmother. She's called like that. It's about a good angel. It has definitely affected me.
Going through various deaths of selves I have wanted to change it, but I have not. I did though cut it sort, for the shake of traveling, made it easy for other cultures and people to get it fast :)

My mom basically started using a different name when she was around 50 because she felt like her name wasn't her anymore, and it was confusing to some people at first but that is just temporary. How would you feel doing that?

I will be changing my name eventually. I need to shake off trauma and reclaim a part of me that was hidden from me for 8 years.

It's ok, my mum wanted to call me Gavin, which would have been much worse.
I've seen you mention this before. I hope you've got a good nickname, or middle name.
SlippingAway · 46-50, F
@NudasPriest I wish I had a good nickname but I really don't. My middle names not bad
Im rarely called by my given name - only at work. I like it. It an old fashioned Greek name.

I never liked it but if I changed my name, I would have to change everything about my life as well. I'd pick something simple, short and universal.
