If few women are so concerned about not having babies, why don't they adopt a suitable contraception method. If they do it occasionally, they can monitor/test and take morning after pill.
It is estimated that the life enters after 6-8 weeks. Why wait to kill a life. After that it's not only about a woman's body and her rights, it's also about someone else's life yet to come in this world, who can't speak for himself/herself.
Think about a pilot who doesn't try to land safely and instead exits with his/her parachute, not at all concerned about the live of passengers. A pregnant woman is expected to be protector of the new life. What if the protector becomes killer, saying my body my choice my rights.
In my opinion abortions should be allowed when it's a special case like danger to life of a woman or rape victim, or up to 6 weeks to safeguard the new life coming to this world after that.

@ABCDEF7 Unfortunately, birth control methods are not 100% effective. That’s the case even if you’re married
and neither of you want another child. Do you stop having sex with your husband because you might get pregnant again ? In some states doctors will not sterilize a woman until she’s past a certain age.
Then there’s the issue of rape victims who didn’t choose to have sex, especially young girls. As long as the possibility of getting pregnant from rape exists, abortion even in that case needs to stay legal. Any society that puts a fetus’ life over that of the girl or woman carrying it is saying they don’t value their female members except as human incubators.

@bijouxbroussard So no one should use any birth control just because it's not 100% effective. If they are really concerned they can take birth control measures and be watchful to avoid abortion after 6 weeks.
Why a rape victim not monitor if they are pregnant? Why they would not have morning after pills. This rape victim excuse is older before the advent of morning after pills. Although on being certain that they are pregnant why would they wait for 6 weeks. Moreover such victims can specifically be granted exemption.
I am not against abortions before 6 weeks. It's about a new life that some unhuman don't prioritize.

No. Even if you use it every single time, it can fail, because it’s not 100% effective.
You don’t live in the U.S., where in some states abortions are now prohibited even for underage rape victims.
Even in cases of incest. And morning-after pills are not available everywhere, or to everyone, either—for similar reasons.

@bijouxbroussard Abortion should be allowed for all rape victims including underage if it is safe for them. And morning after pills should be available to everyone, they can be taken upto 72 hours. That is what should be a required to be updated in laws, as it is already in some parts of world. But it should not be used as an excuse for others to kill new lives.
If it's an incest is without consent, it comes under category of rape, which should be exempted. Otherwise it is normal case in view of this aspect and should not be an excuse.
I don't understand why you can't be watchful and don't take measures to avoid abortion after 6 weeks in such cases? People just want liberty, no responsibility.

@ABCDEF7 Unfortunately, here there has become an either or situation, with total strangers who think they should decide whether or not a woman or girl gives birth.
Abortions were available to women and girls on request, within a certain time frame. After that point, they weren’t available unless necessary to save the woman’s life. And that’s how things should’ve stayed.

@bijouxbroussard Laws are made with implications and exceptions, it's not a new thing, if you are aware. And these exceptions are important to protect humanity and rights of others. There can not be any excuse to have liberty without responsibility.
OogieBoogie · F
@ABCDEF7 how about men take responsibility for their sperm they throw about ?
Your dick.
Your sperm
Your responsibility to not impregnate someone who doesn't want to be impregnated .

@ABCDEF7 Some laws are made specifically based on the lawmakers’ biases, and the United States has had that precedent (you are correct, it is not new here). But for almost 50 years women had the responsibility of their own reproductive choices, and as of 2022, in some states they no longer do.
The hypocrisy there is that men, who will never bear children themselves, are making laws about women’s bodies. I was a teenager 50 years ago and remember how things were. There will still be abortions, just not safe ones where the girls and women survive.

@ABCDEF7 also ....you dont even know what you're talking about .
Do you monitor YOUR hormone levels ?
Do you check your sperm output ?
Do you know how fertile you are?
What happens if a woman is on Mirena?
How is she even gonna know ?
You're very Keen to make women Oh so responsible for falling pregnant ....but are Oh So Ready as Man to tell us what IS and ISNT right for us .
We already take contraception,
We already put up with the way it screws with our body:.
Headaches
Hypertension
Nausea
Bloating
Weight gain
Mood swings
Depp vien thrombosis
Stroke
Heart attack
Breast cancer
Migraine
Bone loss
....want me to keep going ?
What do men sacrifice for contraception ?
You wanna compare prices of contraception?
Women pay hundreds ...if not THOUSANDS of Dollars in a life time for contraception .
What do men fork out ?
Don't tell me what, where and when my gender can and can't do with their body when we are ALREADY putting our health on the line for the sake of contraception .
Guys have been happy for years to let us feel sick , have heart problems , risk cancer , risk a heart attack so on and so forth ...just so they can freely have risk free sex.
I see you're happy to advocate the morning after pill ....do you have any idea how that affects some women ?
Do you know how SICK it makes them ?
I'm so tired of men throwing MORE responsibility at us ....and then when our 98% of responsibility fails us ....we get condemned for falling pregnant .
How dare we !
Get real .
Guys have fucking 2% of responsibility to cover and it's dirt cheap to buy ....and carries no health risks ...and you're STILL blaming us?
Don't talk to me about rights !
Because if this was fair , and women had the right NOT to screw over their health ....men would be on the pill, or have their nut tubes clamped untill they are ready to be a father .
How about men stop prioritizing themselves and let women have some rights in this instead of having it all their own way ?
WE pay
WE sacrifice
WE compromise our health .
And when WE fall pregnant , WE pay either way .
and you think you have a right to sit there on your hormone free ass, and tell us we don't have a right to OUR decisions about OUR bodies and OUR life , when we sacrifice before ....during ....and after , in any Outcome of pregnancy 🙄
Men risk NOTHING .

@Raaii it's a HUGE responsibility to bring a child into the world .
It's now roughly a 20 year commitment .
And it's costly .
Life IS getting harder for SO many people.
And you're right ....the world isn't becoming this easy equal paradise ...it's ...fucked up.

What if the father does not want the child?
What if the mother has other children and cannot afford to raise another child?
What if she does not realise she is pregnant for another 6 weeks?
You analogy of a pilot is so wrong...that is his job and his choice to fly a plane. Would you trust a pilot who doesn't want to fly a plane?
People will talk about abortion and say it is wrong.... but they do not consider what it is like for a child to be born into the world, unwanted, unloved, neglected .... what will become of them?

@bijouxbroussard @OogieBoogie I just want to add another aspect in this conversation if I may. We are inundated with male virility commercials and insurance companies gladly pay for Viagra and other ED drugs while it is sometimes a battle for a woman to even get a pharmacist to fill a birth control prescription because it’s against their religious beliefs. Women have to choose between the guilt of taking their child to daycare to working two jobs because the father decided they didn’t want to step up and be a parent while they boast about how many children they have and wear it like a badge of pride. Lord forbid if they try to have a career AND children! They are If a woman doesn’t have enough children they are selfish and if they have too many they are abusing the system or barefoot and pregnant.
Even when we have a choice we lose. We will always be less than human to someone. Even other women sometimes.
Just my thoughts and experiences.
