I'm extremely against banning abortion, but what you're describing isn't a double standard. Women can still legally walk out on their families and/or put their children up for adoption.
edit: also I'd argue that this kinda downplays the problem, the real problem is that they violate bodily autonomy.

It is far beyond that. At the end of the day, abortion is a medical procedure. Pregnancy is a medical condition. Women should have the right to choose what to do with that pregnancy, whether it’s to end it, or to continue. Pregnancy can cause disability and even death.

@Soph03 that’s true.

it's sad how people don't know how common this is.

@Chickie Exactly

Some of the states banning abortion have high rates of infant mortality.

@JonLosAngeles66 and teen pregnancy like Mississippi

Here's a thought, if you don't want kids, keep your legs closed/use protection/get a vasectomy, and quit blaming everyone else for your irresponsibility...
Were it up to me, I'd have all these "pro choicers" permanently sterilized before they became a problem to begin with... aka you don't want kids, can't control your own body, and/or can't be liable for your own actions?; then you should be prevented from ever having kids... period.

Think we're more and more heading down the handmaid's tale route

None of these arguments matter, the only thing that matters is if people vote against the republicians who are behind making this possible.
MasterLee · 56-60, M
@Subsumedpat which stood up for states rights and not legislation from the bench.
I have four and I have taken care of all four....... men should take care of their chidren, however, sadly, many dont.

If life starts at conception so should child support and welfare 😌
Chickie · F
People should leave our rights alone.
They should make it a law to take all contraceptives free and allow women to get their tubes tied or hysterectomy by their own free will without doctors stupid unwritten rules that all women should be pregnant.
What I don't like about pro-lifers is that they don't care about the child after it's born and they don't want to fix the adoption or foster system and they don't believe in birth control... I just don't understand these people.

They are required to pay. In fact in some states, an actual anonymous donor has to pay too. Talk about discrimination.

In the internet age, a lot of guys who were just "looking to get laid" will now be getting wages garnished for 18 years. Some guys have complained that if a woman can decide not to have a baby, they shouldn’t have to pay. Stupid argument, because when she could decide not to, men didn’t. So now these men should be happy.
Women can’t choose not to, so men will always be paying. 🙁

There is no law here. If you want something not enumerated in the constitution you pass a law in your state.

What makes you think that women can’t have abortions?
