Shortly after my 16th birthday, in May 1966, i quit school. I let my father and high school principal talk me into staying. If i had it to do over I would have quit and hitchiked to California to play in a rock&roll band which is what I intended to do.

Two things completely tied... 1. Not having chronic anxiety or PTSD... (in other words, to feel somewhat confident, a shred of self esteem)

I would say nothing. I have long understood that everything that happened in my life was meant to happen at its destined time, teaching me valuable lessons, no matter how difficult those experiences were.

There are lots of things we can change about our lives. Your question implies that we should long for something that we cannot change, but that is an exercise in futility in which I refuse to engage.
