What's the one thing that always turns a bad day around for you?

Some days just don't go the way we hoped.

The meeting that drained you, the words that stung, the quiet drive home where everything felt heavy.

But somehow, most of us find that one thing ... a cup of tea, a walk, a song, a call to someone who just gets it ... that slowly brings us back to ourselves.

What's yours?

The only thing that ever turned a bad day around for me was a hug from my husband so now I come here instead.

@Ferric67 Wow....really? That’s a nice one. Cats are stress busters.

BrandNewMan · 61-69, M
A hike in the woods or long walk along the rail-to-trail path

Time with my sons or other family,

This, a pour of bourbon and good music

ChampagneOnIce · 51-55, F
Time with my dog and husband, a walk, a bath, happy or chill music, a glass of wine, a fun activity
ChampagneOnIce · 51-55, F
@romell We often do walk together, but many times walking is my dog and me time.
romell · 51-55, M
@ChampagneOnIce was wondering who would be on the least dog or husband lol
ChampagneOnIce · 51-55, F
Time alone in silence preferably. A long, indulgent shower. A cup of tea. The understanding hug from my husband.
Renkon · M
@itsnotimportant hmm..... that's good prescription to reset.
MellyMel22 · F
It was hearing from someone. CraZy how that worked.
Renkon · M
@MellyMel22 Was?.....
MellyMel22 · F

Either nothing or something that keeps me super busy that my mind would have zero time and space to ruminate. I just can't get it out of my head for the rest of my day no matter how many times I reason with myself that it doesn't matter. I wish so much I could just let it go, forget a minute after it happened but unfortunately, it takes some time before my mind drops it and in the meantime there are usually upsurges of emotions in me.
Renkon · M
@CrazyMusicLover that’s an honest… from the heart answer… most people will be able to relate to it.
CrazyMusicLover · 31-35
@Renkon I thought that it's just me and that there's something wrong with my mind. 😅
Renkon · M
@CrazyMusicLover That happens to a lot of people. Some talk about it, some just carry on with it in silence.
Just waking up knowing I’m ok.
Renkon · M
@QuietReverie That's brave.
Penny · 46-50, F
a nice shower or bath
Picklebobble2 · 61-69, M
Fresh air.
Going for a walk or drive.
Getting some physical space between me and it.
Renkon · M
@Picklebobble2 Going for a walk is definitely a reset button. It works for me too, especially when it's into the quiet and freshness of nature.
Picklebobble2 · 61-69, M
@Renkon For me it's the sea.
If i can get half an hour of sea air and sounds that can be enough to revitalise me to push on.
Renkon · M
@Picklebobble2 True... the sound of the waves and cool wind ....it's soothing. I know. I grew up close to the sea.
