Yes, that is an awful feeling. I lost several friends far too soon, two to suicide. Now that we are old, it isn't a shock to hear that I have lost a friend.

I know how you feel. I used to live with two girls who were twins once upon a time. Last year one of them had a baby and the other died. I still can't accept it. Since they were twin sisters, they had a bond nobody could understand and it's like the bond got looser when one of them had her own family and her own baby girl. Then the other died a few months later and I'm trying not to attach a metaphysical meaning to it but my brain makes some weird connections.

I know exactly how you feel. Every time I go to a class reunion and another picture of a classmate who has passed is added, I am in shock. I recently lost a very good friend 2 weeks ago and it is still unbelievable.

@HoeBag We have pictures of ALL who have passed, good or bad 😊.
But yes, some were closer than others.

But, are you saying that my 96 year old mom is bad ?? 🤣

My former schoolmate died maybe a year or two after we graduated from high school. I talked about it with other former schoolmates I was a friend with and at that time, it was almost scary how we were not really affected by it. It was weird. I mean, we were shocked but none of us cried or was truly sad like when someone close dies. Damn, the dude sat behind us for years and that was all we had to give to him. That's...sad.

But of course later he started appearing in my dreams now and then and in some he said it was just some kind of hoax, in other I realized he was dead and wasn't supposed to be there. And not a long ago I caught myself thinking "where might he be now and what is he doing?" only to realize in a split second that he can't possibly do anything. He's been dead for over 10 years.

Thinking back Richard was 12 when he was killed in a traffic accident. Lyle was 15 when he died in a home accident. Carol was 17 when she died in a traffic accident. Another Richard was 26 when he took his own life.

People complain about getting older (I am guilty of it) but it is true what they say - some people do not have that privilege.

A few years ago, my room mate d*ed of pneumonia, she was 30.

We wonder what kind of a sick joke it is when someone has to go so early.

Like, how can they just be... gone? We cannot make sense of it.

@HoeBag Sorry for your loss. 30 is way too young.

It seems hard to believe how things can quickly come to an end. And sometimes unexpectedly. Those are the times I think about life. About how we should be at peace with God, our loves ones, and ourselves.

Tougher to wrap your mind around because it’s outside the normal order of things. Like a parent having to bury a child, almost impossible to process.

It’s about time for me. The first days are the shock and denial phase @MartinTheFirst
