Where did He / She go?

The one you used to be.

The one you thought you were..

What happened to Him / Her?

She was lost for many, many years. I did find her though and brought her back. With lots of TLC, she’s almost back to her old self. Maybe a better version
Infamous607 · 51-55, M
@Jenny1234 That's pretty great.!!! I have a feeling this might be the only positive respond to this post. Good for you!! Thank you for sharing. That's was alright

I go back to one of my favorite poems by Thomas S. Jones:
"Sometimes"
Across the fields of yesterday,
He sometimes comes to me,
A little lad just back from play —
The lad I used to be.
And yet he smiles so wistfully
Once he has crept within,
I wonder if he hopes to see
The man I might have been.

@exexec
That made me a bit emotional actually. Thank you for taking the time to write

She’s clawing her way back up from the past few years of pain. There’s a light at the end. It’s called hope.

@Infamous607 thank you

He’s still here. I let him out on occasion to run around.
Infamous607 · 51-55, M
@3Dogmatic
Funny you say that.. This SW account here is how I let mine out
Ontheroad · M
Left him (way later than I should have), but still, I'm the better for it
Infamous607 · 51-55, M
@Ontheroad so who was the real you? The one you left or the one you are now?
Ontheroad · M
@Infamous607 good question, and I've asked myself the same thing many times. The one I left behind was the self-serving a$$hole who now has found peace as a better man.

My answer to you, and the answer I've come to accept, is that being at peace with oneself is by far the better way to live.

He grew. Bit by bit moving on, gathering new thoughts and experiences, gaining and losing close friends and being transformed spiritually until, like the physical body, nothing of the original was left except memories.
Infamous607 · 51-55, M
@FreddieUK
I thought this was going to be about transformation and growth and it was. I was taken aback by the last line. Not the happy ending I was guessing.
It's scary
It really took me aback. Good one
FreddieUK · 70-79, M
@Infamous607 Thank you. It's more of a poetic reflection sparked by your 'opener'. I am happy that I am no longer the shy, bullied person I was as a child and ended up with the metaphorical comparison of the cells of the body constantly renewing.
SlippingAway · 46-50, F
I am still her, I am fighting to bring her out more.
Infamous607 · 51-55, M
@SlippingAway
I thought about your answer fir a long minute. I thought that was very clever and maybe we are all still who we were. But either were forced to or we chose to act different from what we are for whatever reason . You know what k mean??

Good one
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
He slowly changed into me. Or perhaps didn't change, just became more complete.
Infamous607 · 51-55, M
@ninalanyon
That's a new take on it for me. Never thought of it that way. Saw it more like abandoning or forgetting the old you . Not really like a transformation or a completeness process. Very clever.
ninalanyon · 61-69, T
@Infamous607 I think it depends on how your life has worked out. In my case I was widowed after a long marriage and found myself with huge holes in my life in addition to aspects that while not actively suppressed had been hidden, glossed over, underdeveloped. The last eight years have been a process of discovery, invention, and reinvention.

I'd like to accept credit for it being clever but really it is simply something that has happened to me, and is continuing.

When I look back on my life now I can see that the beginnings of who I am now were there from the beginning but the practicalities of life get in the way and sometimes only something abrupt and cataclysmic will reveal those aspects.

@ninalanyon
There is quite a few real interesting things in your response. Thank you for taking the time to write . Let me think about it a bit more

I'm very happy because I've put the aggressive macho me away and I'm now a happy bisexual crossdresser.
Prettybratbi1tch · 26-30, F
Life happened
Infamous607 · 51-55, M
@Prettybratbi1tch
Yeah. It could have been better here and there I think. But you're right. Not much anyone could add to that.

Yeah, I was sitting on top of the world one day, young smst. , I closed my eyes for just a minute.. and BOOM when I opened them, A fucking huge chunk of life had happened..

Thank you for responding. I'm going to steal that from you.
I didnt like her
Infamous607 · 51-55, M
@V00doo
You didn't like here then, or you didn't like her later .
@Infamous607 Then or now.
SpudMuffin · 61-69, M
He had to change his name and move to South America.
Infamous607 · 51-55, M
