Started going to pub with my mates when I was 16, a pint of beer cost eleven pence.

we didn't need our parents to chaperon us on halloween
we had common sense

Kids TV was scary

Road our bikes to the local store and splurged on 10 cents worth of candy
Had to be home before dark
Followed the mosquito guy on bikes while he sprayed DDT
The dentist was actually the devil in a lab coat
The Ice cream guy sold us Mad Dog and weed
An M-80 blowing up a mailbox was VERY cool

A typical date was $5 to allow for: 50 cents for gas; $2.50 for movie tickets, popcorn and two drinks; and $2.00 for burgers and fries at the snack shack after the movie.

I could go swimming whenever or wherever I liked (or so it seemed) . .

The gardener at our school used a scythe to cut the grass . .

Girls had to walk in groups of at least three to discourage sexual harrassment . .

My mother gave me the Spanish Inquisition every time I left the house 😂
