@ToLivePeacefully nothing ends a friendship faster than a loan. Here's why.
If they already can't afford their lifestyle, where is the money to pay you back going to come from? When payments aren't made, feelings get hurt. But even if your feelings aren't hurt, maybe their pride is, and that keeps them from making any contact with you... ..and if your feelings are hurt, and you let that be known to them, they might likely see that as you being insensitive and your punishment for being so insensitive is to default on the loan and never talk to you again. I dont condone this behavior, but it is human behavior.
For me, i try to be observant of my friends financial situations and if i can help, I help. By help, I mean, i will give them some money without ever expecting anything in return, and I make them aware of that. Not because I want a brownie button. It's so they know they can still contact me anytime they feel like it. It's rare for anyone to ask me for money after I already gave them some.
If they ask me before I offer, I make it difficult for them by asking lots of questions. I don't think it's being nosey. Banks are a lot more nosey. I just want to know what I'm supporting and if it's a loan they want, how will they pay it back. If it's a good cause, I will give them the money and tell them to keep it. If it's a frivolous reason, I tell them I don't have it to give. ..then I go buy something frivolous for myself ..lol just kidding

You need friends. And I'm going to tell you something that's kind of a hard truth, that my mom told me a long time ago, before the meaning of the word friend was diluted to the point where it is now.
A friend of the kind you need is someone who comes over, someone you can hang out with, not just somebody you know from work or school or social media. Because we can lie to our friends online and our coworkers, and they'll never know the difference. But you can't lie to the people who can drop in anytime. You can't fool them into thinking you're okay.

Don't let this, or them, dictate the quality of your life. To say life is pointless is a bit too much...

Same but I have no one in my call logs, and Life has been becoming empty and useless
ToLivePeacefully · 31-35, M
@FreestyleArt I am heading in that direction too.
Eventually people will stop needing my help at work and no more calls after that.

There is always purpose. It's not always obvious. We can only depend on ourselves

@V00doo Ourselves ?
My inner self has been saying to end it all for a long time.
I quit my job last year just to stay away from tall buildings with access to roof.
I'm fighting in my own way 😞.
