It boggles my mind when people are annoyed that they could of shown empathy.

You're not annoyed, you're embarrassed that you don't do anything to help others unless it suits you. So you make people who are feeling bad, also feel like they're too much. Sometimes I read stuff here and I go through the day in my real life, and the apathy and preoccupation with self has gone a little far. Social media exposes those inner thoughts. Hiding behind a screen, a facade, a tribe of people who will agree to anything. I remember the feeling of community, I know it existed. It's only a dream now.

Sometimes I think the whole world is going through something like compassion fatigue. We’re so inundated by injustice it’s hard to know where to start.

But I agree it’s not an excuse. Just do something. Commit to a cause. Help one person if that’s all you can do.

It’s frustrating.
@SwampFlower I agree we're fatigued, I also think the system is designed that way. Our spirits are being crushed, we're losing our shared heart as people.

It's hard to see people complaining about it though. Complaining about complaining 😂 a little kindness goes such a long way these days. But I feel like people wouldn't do anything compassionate unless their live depended on it.

I don't always feel empathy. The good news is that I don't need to in order to stay true to my sense of fairness and try to help where I can. Most likely because I look at things through bigger chain of consequences and connections and not in isolation.
@Miram there's still something in you that drives you to do the right thing, an innate compassion because of your own experience.

I don't know everything you've been through, but I've seen many people who've struggled a lot less acting like it's self care to ignore their kids, be rude to others and hurt other living things.

Ive witnessed that two
Online ppl can be so cruel. You can visualize them laughing at the power they seem to think they have when in reality they have none but mental issues. So I feel sorry for them in a way because they don't realize what they have done.
I hope I'm not one of these people lol
@SinlessOnslaught I've never seen you behave that way. You are open about how you feel and kind to others. We all have off times, but in general you are a caring soul.

Like what you are doing now
@Monalisasmith86 if you're going to insult me, please make sense so I can laugh about it too.
