Oh man, it's not just about the luxury anymore. It's nearing the survival options or at least prospects for relatively safe future. If I had enough money I'd move to some part of the world where I think it's still relatively safe. Like New Zealand, for example.

@Elessar Agreed!

@SomeMichGuy The earthquake and tsunami are a much bigger threat in the Pacific. Yes, extreme weather too.
SomeMichGuy · M
@CrazyMusicLover Extreme weather is because of the warming, which is melting ice on the surface and has been destroying cold storage of CO2 in the deep oceans (accelerating the warming).
Ice melt and warming oceans directly increase ocean volume, and heat increases evaporation so more vapor is in the atmosphere, with more energy, so bigger storms.
But losing low-lying coastal areas is already happening.

I'd have a mom rescue service .. babysitting and cleaning service for underprivileged destitute mothers
Also work education programs for teen kids who want to get away from home or were were kick out of foster homes instead of being on the street ..
Also i would have a bakery in the mountains and a natural slush shop at the beach and a non alcoholic bar

Even if I could afford everything effortlessly, I would choose to live a simple life. And yeah I would prefer working. I would use my blessings to support those who are working hard just to make ends meet.
FloorGenAdm · 51-55, M
Seems to me anything can pass as "work". Show up flirt with each other, stand around talking about stuff (just hangin out)...sit in your chair and play on the phone etc. That being said guess I'd "work" still but for myself...I mean it's like anything you do could pass as work.

I would've bought and run the secondhand bookstore that was up for sale recently. It's right between a gelato stall and a coffee shop.

I’m retired, but if I could find work that I especially enjoyed doing, I work, too. If I had the money to live in luxury, I would even do it on a volunteer basis. I volunteer sometimes now.
HowtoDestroyAngels · 46-50, M
If my health worked out, yes I would work still. I would feel purposeless without having a job/career.
Renkon · M
@HowtoDestroyAngels My thoughts too. Without purpose we feel dead inside.
I don't desire luxury. If I had oodles of money I'd be building people houses, helping animals and buying land to preserve it. I'd still be dirty and sweaty.
@MarbleMarvel Me too, I think the same way...I would hands on be personally involved in all of those activities.
Renkon · M
@MarbleMarvel That’s wonderful — staying true to your heart no matter what you have.

I wouldn’t use it for luxury. It would be my retirement I will never get. Maybe I would try to write a book. It’s something I would like to try one day.
kimmy159 · F
Oh definitely! I’d start my own business without the pressure of needing to financially succeed lol
greensnacks · F
Yes. I'd build animal rescue centers and enroll in education. Build holistic schools
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
Not at all. Volunteer for causes I care about, yes, but work for some fat cat when I don't need to?? Hell no. I want to live my life while I can, not waste away making someone else rich.
romell · 51-55, M
Yes definitely need to live a life with sd ome goals
tobynshorty · 51-55, F
Volunteer in all sorts of fields to help people.
Renkon · M
@tobynshorty Money can't change a noble heart. Well said.
SomeMichGuy · M
Yes. More, actually.

No. If I had plenty of money to live in luxury forever and especially because I have no children to leave a legacy to why would I just keep generating more for the government to get a hold of After I'm Gone
I would donate most of it
Renkon · M
@pripyatamusementpark For what cause would you donate it?
@Renkon habitat for humanity, emergency homeless shelters around here too ...it's a big problem here especially downtown
Renkon · M
@pripyatamusementpark That’s a wonderful cause — your heart is definitely in the right place.

Nah I don't need that life. This dead world is not my kingdom.
