How do I get a dog to eat

Mix it with his regular meat based dog food. They are putting pumpkin into lots of cat food these days. My cat would never eat those kinds of cat food...hated the smell, apparently, but you might have better luck with your dog!

If it's canned pumpkin, I've never known a dog that didn't go bonkers for it and just snarf it down. And I've known a lot of dogs, being a dog sitter for a while

I think rice would get better results; I've never seen a dog that wouldn't just take pumpkin and run with it.

Add some beef bouillon to it. Anything that would be meat flavored.

Maybe try mixing the pumpkin with peanut butter and see if that would work?
