I am alone almost ALL the time, but that feeling does not overwhelm me. I think it's because I can sense that God is with me, looking over my shoulder, and providing me with an inner companionship...so that I need no one else.
I highly recommend that you start praying...just tell God your thoughts and feelings in your private moments. Open up a line of communication. Because God is REAL, and if you have Him in your life, you will never feel that terrible emptiness.
Sorry to be a pain in the a$$. This just really helps ME, and sees me through, and I am genuine in my desire to help you.

Can just about take your breath away at times.

@OlderSometimesWiser Yes. It feels like suffocation. It's a moment in time that hits fast and passes slowly.

@Gibbon In a sense I can relate, in November 2010 my late ex fiancee died due to cardiopulmonary issues, even though she admitted to me how she lied to me to be with her, I still somewhat stayed with her, I moved into the spare room, if I had left, her two sons would have put her in county nursing home.

@NativePortlander1970 You did the right thing for her.

@Gibbon Even though I had every right to leave her for how she egregiously deceived me for years, I couldn't do it.
