How do I (or you) become a better person, is it through mindfulness, exercise, diet, journaling, spirituality...etc Can you give me some tips or

hints on things that you do.

Starts with being mindful. If you aren't aware of what you want to improve on or where you're at, it won't happen

@deadgerbil I guess imma have to start at the beginning.

@Lostpoet

That's the best place to start.

One thing I do is simply apply scripture and scripture alone, without any doctrine, to my life. If I believe a scripture needs interpreting, it is not for me at this stage of my life.
Leaving behind orginized religion, and the doctrine associated with it, has greatly improved my life.

Actions.
Actions will do it.

Don't bother with all the New Age stuff. Cut out the middle men, just do good things. Give a little to charity, hold a door open for someone, buy your clothes from a charity shop, sell or give away things you no longer need instead of throwing them in the trash.

Start small and don't feel bad that you aren't perfect. Just feel good that you are slightly better this year than last year.

@ninalanyon Those are all great suggestions.
Seems like a lot of effort

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout I would do anything to get out of my current predicament.

I agree with the mindfulness so you know what your idea of “better” is, but after that, I think you just throw spaghetti at the wall and see what sticks. We all need something different, but I do believe the air is clearer when you’re facing the right direction for you. Just don’t give up. 🤗

In my experience slowing down getting more rest. Family and learning have been the most successful ways to improve my self.

I am trying to fend off the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune trying to find a pit stop to recharge and re group

depression sufferer here. can confirm:
•meditation / mindfulness didn't work i couldn't keep my monkey mind in check
•exercise is very helpful
•diet only works if you're willing to forgive yourself every time you crash
•journaling wasn't helpful at all and i gave it up faster than i started
•spirituality was frustrating because i found myself defending things i didn't believe

exercise and having a network of friends who don't judge you and are willing to listen are the two best things I can suggest because it works for me
