How do you try to keep positive in your daily life?

Making sure my lifestyle aligns with my values and staying goal oriented

Do you often battle with trying to stay positive? I honestly can't imagine that.

I don't have to try... even when things get hard, even seemingly impossible, I remain positive.

Sure, there have been some dark moments, but generally, I've always been at least okay, if not upbeat.
Ontheroad · M
@SW-User It's a choice and I chose to be happy... I know it isn't (for some people) that simple, but for me, it is.
Lilnonames · F
@Ontheroad yes me as well. If something can't be done or finished I know it will eventually get fixed sometimes things don't work the way we want. But in the end it's all good
Ontheroad · M
@Lilnonames Yep, I fix what I can fix, and the rest of it I let go of. I refuse to practice being miserable.

It's pretty much ingrained in me, while also being realistic that not every day will bring about a positive spirit.

Some days I can't do anything else but crumble. Then I tell myself it's okay not to be okay today, maybe tomorrow.....

Even when things are not going my way I take it one day at a time. I also make note of the positive things I have going on in my life….things that many others going through the same situation may lack.
“C’mon lotto” 🤞

I remember that there are those who would give anything for the blessings that I have, and that no matter what problems or setbacks I have, it could always be worse.

Just smile even when you're about to explode

People will not chat or message so that shows me a lot about their character

@GLITTER 😀
That's been a tough one for me. Rather than trying to keep positive, I strive to remain authentic. Authenticity is more important to me than positivity because being authentic may include something negative, which is an important indicator of something and prudent for me to address. Seeing what the negativity is about provides allowance for the positive to emerge. Once positivity is there, I get as much out of it as I can.

I prefer to be realistic. It's difficult to be positive in this day and age and it seems so phony to pretend life is good. I prefer to pay attention and not get attached to my thoughts and I just let them go by. I suppose that is a positive act. Barbara Ehrenreich, who wrote Nickel and Dimed, has a great book titled Bright-sided: How the Relentless Promotion of Positive Thinking Has Undermined America (2009).
Guard your thoughts
Don't depend on others to make or break your happiness.
Relax expectations.
Create moments of calm by regularly meditating, praying, etc.
Keep your mind and hands busy.
Find joy in simple pleasures.
Switch off the news; limit social media.
Join a cause greater than yourself...giving, volunteering, helping others, etc.
Smile
I dont. I embrace the mood and keep working towards my goals.

Been trying to live in the moment more and smile and giggle at things that tickle me instead of always cynical. Take things slow. Try not to put myself in a situation I won't like. Stay clean. Avoid creeps the best I can. Get things done to cheer myself up some.
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
Block any negative people online is a good start. It has to be peaceful around me. I avoid reading news etc. Try to keep a fair distance from things that are upsetting that I can't change.
PhilDeep · 51-55, M
I haven't been very consistent but I do find gratitude journaling helped me a lot, especially if done first thing in the morning.
BLP11520 · 61-69, M
It's very hard with so many unfriendly people , even in a state known for being friendly

I keep life simple and casual. 😎

@calicuz cool
I don't really; I've been working on stoic philosophy more lately. things come and go, I don't have to feel a way about hardly any of them. there are things I have to do - tasks, work, etc, but I just have to do them, I don't have to feel any particular way about them. it tends to make life easier.
Taking things one day at a time.

Keeping positive’s not always possible, to be truthful. It’s sometimes do or die for me. I don’t have the luxury to always be positive but I know I need to keep moving or I’d get crush. It’s a struggle.
Nick1 · 61-69, M
Keep negativity and negative people away.
It is attitude change towards everything happening in life and you have to work for it.
Good luck.
Stay happy.

Ignore insults, ignore slander and focus on my work. I take deep breathe to avoid mass murder and working with my hands prevents negative thoughts.
