What does it feel like to be loved?

I don't think I'll ever know what it's like.
ElRengo · 70-79, M
Happened to me once.
In my and her mature years.
What does it feel?
Like life make sense.
Lilliesandlight · 41-45, F
@ElRengo ugh, if only life did make sense
ElRengo · 70-79, M
@Lilliesandlight
Is a very nonsense sense if this make sense!

It feels warm and powerful like you can take over the world. They become all u think of and they also think in you. There’s an element of fear of not really knowing what the other feels and a sensation of safety that they feel the same way. The happiness this brings makes you feel like your on top of the world. Like nothing else matters because no longer will you deal with it alone. It feels wonderful. But the magic is hard to find.
Lilliesandlight · 41-45, F
@userfawkes1105 yeah it is. Sounds like it makes you feel warm and safe
@Lilliesandlight it’s the most powerful feeling. Truth is that it’s mostly over looked now and most of it is just a rush for sex. But when u feel the actual connection it feels warm and the trust some one else puts in you and you in them makes u feel like u got super powers and the source is them it feels amazing they choose you because they are like your secret drug that gives your life that hit of color vs the regular black and white. Like I said most times this magic is not found or emotions mistake it’s identity.

I think my mother loved me. I saw her cry when I moved away from home. To me, that was love. Other than that, I have no idea....

@BlueVeins ok! ☺️

I couldn't tell you. In spite of having loved many people over the years (family, friends, dates, partner), I don't think any of them cared much about me in return.

It must be amazing to be loved.

Well - here is something I've posed many times , and has fallen mostly on deaf ears - from the Ballad of the Sad Café

It is for this reason that most of us would rather love than be loved. Almost
everyone wants to be the lover. And the curt truth is that, in a deep secret way, the state
of being be loved is intolerable to many. The beloved fears and hates the lover, and with
the best of reasons. For the lover is forever trying to strip bare his beloved. The lover
craves any possible relation with the beloved, even if this experience can cause him only
pain.

addictive, has a short half-life, end up strung out and tattered like some rubbish blowin' down the street
Lilliesandlight · 41-45, F
@SW-User sounds about right...
DaveE54 · 51-55, M
It is the best feeling in the world but hurts so much when you lose it. Stuck in there, there is someone out there for you
Nick1 · 61-69, M
You will know when it enters your life.
Nick1 · 61-69, M
@Lilliesandlight You will. Stay positive and keep your eyes and mind open. Sometimes it takes time and efforts. Never give up on finding love.
Lilliesandlight · 41-45, F
@Nick1 kinda hard to do when you are married to a narcissist.
Nick1 · 61-69, M
@Lilliesandlight Sorry to hear that. There are many ways to feel it.
New love is like an addictive drug filling your brain with happy chemicals. Long term love is stability with occasional murderous internal rage. Maybe that’s just me
Lilliesandlight · 41-45, F
@Notladylike ugh. All I have is the rage ☹️
@Lilliesandlight Half way there

It feels like life has a foundation that one can rely on. It's liberating. Confidence building. It feels risky. It feels like being a part of something bigger and more important than oneself. It feels like belonging.
Expressman · 61-69
I had a cat that adored me. No body in family did, nor loved me, but verbally and emotionally abused me. Not my cat.
samueltyler2 · 80-89, M
Poets have tried, sometimes successfully, for centuries.
Foodie60 · 31-35, M
I also wonder how it feels like
zonavar68 · 51-55, M
I would love to find that out too - I'm presuming you're talking about romantic/intimate/sexual/adult love not parental love as I get in spades from my 5 y/o (and she gets it back from me her very proud dad).

The former kind is pure unobtainium.
Musicman · 61-69, M
Pretty awesome really 🤗
zonavar68 · 51-55, M
I know what unconditional love from a child (my 6 yo daughter) is like but sadly find adult romantic intimate love highly elusive and basically pure unobtainium now in my 50's.

You feel safe and like you matter and are beautiful and not an invisible pos all of a sudden.

TheScubaDiver · 36-40, M

Foodie60 · 31-35, M
Lilliesandlight · 41-45, F
@Foodie60 why are people like us left to face the world alone?
Foodie60 · 31-35, M
@Lilliesandlight I guess at times we have to leave to God
SW-User
It makes you feel fulfilled.
cycleman · 61-69, M
