What's something you don't understand that people in your country do?

For me, the amount of people that buy gigantic still water bottles, tap water in Ireland is fine to drink or boil its not necessary to buy still water for cooking or drinking, the water I'm referring to that they buy, is no better in quality or taste than our tap water.

It seems like a totally ridiculous waste of money to me

They want to be the first ones to get out, for example when the ship is arriving at the port, they're all up and running to exit first even though they know there will be a huge line, when the bus isn't there yet there are people who are already putting their jackets on and grabbing their things. Most characteristic for me was when I was returning to Athens from abroad and the plane landed but it still needed to turn, the pilot and flight attendants were begging them to sit down but they were already up forming a line to get out lmao.

@HannibalAteMeOut Good Morning

@HannibalAteMeOut I remember that going from the ferry to Ios, I was thinking to myself is there some emergency or something, people were queuing to get off the ship when we clearely were not at the port yet😂
HannibalAteMeOut · 22-25, F
@SW-User yeah idk why people are going crazy, I'm always the last one to get off 😂

Inability to understand that someone who is a war refugee could still be dressed well, own a new car, have money and perhaps doesn't want to be seen as a poor devil that needs to be pitied by everyone.

Burn up a gallon of gas to drive across town to buy 10 gallons of gas at 5 cents cheaper. 🤦‍♂️
SW-User
@Riverman2 that makes no sense

Queue for 16 hours to see a coffin that is hidden under a cloth so you don't even see it 🤔⚰️

Being dangerously hospitable, I mean what's the point, especially when people around the globe tend to exploit it, and when one's nation is already a financial mess?
also don't understand how we elect the dumb and feeble to lead us. even animals don't do that
@saragoodtimes tbh that's probably better than someone too ambitious or aggressive.
KiwiBird · 36-40, F
I am with you on that bottled water situation. The tap water here is completely potable and does not require boiling etc. The worst aspect of that is the energy and fossil fuels (oil) used in making the plastic bottles which are often not recycled and hard to break down.
@KiwiBird only one? I believe multiple companies within 10-12 hours here's have been using tap water
KiwiBird · 36-40, F
@Justafantasy Not sure where exactly you are talking about?
@KiwiBird Western Canada. We might get boil water advisory when they put a new water line into service or if it's flooding

Buying bottled water in nations where water is treated to a reasonable degree is one of the silliest things I can imagine. Unless you live in like Flint, Michigan than maybe you might not feel so safe. Or anywhere else in the US where their infrastructure was built a 150 years ago
Agreed.

People who gather near the entrance of a station platform and try to pile onto the front two carriages of a ten coach train.
Meanwhile Furry is at the other end getting on the train without problem and finding a seat easily.

In most areas its an image thing, not a potable water thing. There are some areas where well water is high in iron, sulfur or other elements that cause taste and odor issues. The tap water in our area is excellent.
BackyardShaman · 61-69, M
Something a lot of people do in the USA is in public get right in your friggin way, everywhere, whether it be in line at a store or going down the highway in vehicles.

Buy up all the toilet paper everytime the weatherman utters the word "snow".
SW-User
@Riverman2 hahaha why🤣😅

@SW-User Makes no sense to me. I only guess that being without tp is their worst nightmare 🤣
I agree - same goes in UK too. Tap water is perfectly fine, although some need to be chilled for best taste.
Mooed78 · F
I totally agree.. why do we do this???🤣🤣
Mooed78 · F
@SW-User I know people who buy about 10 large bottles of water a week.. the bottled water is horrible and full of chemicals probably…
SW-User
@Mooed78 lmao, that's really crazy, they might as well throw their money away 😂😂
Mooed78 · F
@SW-User exactly.. and then all the recycling involved.. it doesn’t make sense lol
angie8819 · 56-60, F
I can never understand that either
I only drink tap watet
alan20 · M
I agree. I'm also not a great fan of "Thanks be to God" when if he existed it often refers to something that was unpleasant in the first place and he could have had the foresight to avoid.

I can't understand young kids who buy drugs online.

By this time, every child but the MOST feeble minded should know, through social media, television, school programs and police department outreach, that FENTANYL is being used on a regular basis as a substitute for oxycontin, adderal, and many other drugs that teenagers abuse.

In some states, they are even handing out fentanyl test kits for free so that drug abusers can test their drugs before using them...and yet children are STILL being poisoned and dying.

still bottled water contains NO CL2
Chlorine gas, Cl2

This is where the term “chlorinated water” comes from – it’s water that’s been sanitized with chlorine.

Chlorine intolerance is often mistaken for chlorine allergy because they are very similar. After all, both can cause a person to suffer with watery, itchy eyes and stuffy nose that comes with a side of coughing. It’s possible a person can suffer from chlorine intolerance and not be allergic to it.

People who have a low intolerance to chlorine can experience these symptoms when swimming in a pool that’s been purified with chlorine. And, due to the lower intolerance levels, they tend to experience those symptoms. Of course, the chlorine intolerance can happen when clothes are washed with a chlorine-loaded detergent. Some people won’t use chlorine bleach on their clothing or other fabrics.

STILL BOTTLED WATER is sanitized with O3 ( Ozone )

It leaves NO residual and is the highest disinfectant known to man, No virus can withstand it
SW-User
@SW-User Many cheap Asian distributors fill and seal bottles with just plain tap water and sell it as STILL or de mineralised water
SW-User
@SW-User this doesn't surprise me tbh
