Why do people take the Internet seriously? Isn't it just for fantasy or where humans show their hidden weird side they hide in real life?

SW-User
That's actually sad, but based on my experience seems that many use it as a game. I always see people of the internet as humans not games or fantasies cause that's what they are, always used it just like another way to express myself.

But, are connections games as well?
That's why I'm quite detached lately from social media.
And more focused on reality, it's more solid.

Not for everyone. We all use it and take it how WE decide to, not based on others standards or lack of.

Remember that the INTERNET was created by the Pentagon and research institutions to accelerate and broaden research capabilities. And businesses have used it to greatly improve efficiency and effectiveness as well as broadening their markets. The issues you raise are not with the INTERNET but with the SOCIAL MEDIA applications of the Internet.

@MarkPaul Mindless devolution.
Maybe in the 90s but more people now spend more time online than they do off. The digital space is as much "IRL" as anything else in life.

There's a lot of money and power wrapped up in the internet, and people take money and power very seriously.
