It would depend on the issue and the age of my pets. I love them dearly but I’m not inclined to go into debt for them in the event my kids needs help.

Same as with people. When it comes to health and life, just gotta fork it out. I spent a lot over the years, sometimes over ridiculous things (dog swallowed one of her toys and had to have it surgically removed from her stomach. Poor fool) or seemingly minor things that turn out expensive ($500 for a rabbit's ear infection).

I am prepared to pay $80.00 per month for pet insurance so that if an emergency happens, my dog can get whatever care she needs.

I spent 2600+ on surgery for one of my cats.. i would have spent more if she needed it.

I'm not sure what my limit would be for a young or middle-aged pet. Our dog is now very elderly and I would pay only for her comfort at this point.
