How much is too much to spend on your pets healthcare?

I recently had to pony up $2700 & $1400 for two operations on my dog. It was hard to bdo but luckily I had a credit card. Would you spend money on your animal and if so how much?

It would depend on the issue and the age of my pets. I love them dearly but I’m not inclined to go into debt for them in the event my kids needs help.

Same as with people. When it comes to health and life, just gotta fork it out. I spent a lot over the years, sometimes over ridiculous things (dog swallowed one of her toys and had to have it surgically removed from her stomach. Poor fool) or seemingly minor things that turn out expensive ($500 for a rabbit's ear infection).

I am prepared to pay $80.00 per month for pet insurance so that if an emergency happens, my dog can get whatever care she needs.

Vets prices are so ridiculous, but we have to do it

I'm not sure what my limit would be for a young or middle-aged pet. Our dog is now very elderly and I would pay only for her comfort at this point.

Probably $500

@Chevy454 Then you understand

Yes. I try to do what I can on the cheap, but sometimes it has to be done. I spent over $1000 from smoke inhalation that he probably didn’t even need@Fired
