How much is too much to spend on your pets healthcare?

I recently had to pony up $2700 & $1400 for two operations on my dog. It was hard to bdo but luckily I had a credit card. Would you spend money on your animal and if so how much?

I spent 2600+ on surgery for one of my cats.. i would have spent more if she needed it.
