So I juuuust turned 30. Is this the fabled "mid-life"?

So I turned 30 in November. (Yeah that's right. Scorpio baby!!)
And now I feel like my career isn't what I'm supposed to be doing. Being an electrician just isn't cutting it. I've taken laboring jobs the last year. Threw tires in a shop, worked in a warehouse for Amazon for awhile. Hell I even got on a suit and did door to door sales, which is what I'm doing currently. Shouldn't I have a career figured out by now? I just feel like I've beeen living someone else's life for so long. Is this just a phase?

No, you're not there yet. You've got a decade or 2 before midlife. Don't panic about your career. A lot of people in their 60s still don't know what they want to be.

@SW-User thank god. I needed to read this today. Just been getting so ansy

Nope. People live a long time these days, so you can look forward to the REAL midlife crisis when you are around 40 to 50.

The REAL crisis is when you have a huge gut from drinking too much beer, and you decide that you might look really great wearing a super long beard, and then you buy a motorcycle that's too small for you so you look like a clown riding a tricycle, and you decide that whatever you are doing is just not good enough, then you get really, really depressed, and you decide to go live in the woods and be a survivalist. 😉

@4meAndyou I've heard as much. Just trying to figure out how to be more present. Feel like I've always missed something and you're right I don't want to go backward. Life is....just so layered
4meAndyou · F
@emPATHicwarrior33 That it is. Enjoy each layer as much as possible. It's a path...and you walk along, learning and growing as you go.

@4meAndyou good thing I am rather fond of learning then :) and thank you for your beautiful words

Do Scorpios usually have long fingers and feet?
emPATHicwarrior33 · 31-35, M
@FreestyleArt that's fair. It is exhausting. I'm on the other side. I was an asshole so I try to be super kind now. I must say I do have better karma on this side though
@FreestyleArt That's interesting because I am a Scorpio and I don't 😂.

There are programs where you can transition to other careers and get credit for your life experience. I am thinking of one I looked into where it was specifically for mid-career folks who wanted a change. The training was mostly for careers in computer networking and help desk work, which are fields that always need people. So computer hardware might be a logical next step for you, as an apprentice or intern or even a trade school/community college. Community colleges offer a lot of basic computer work-related degrees and even certificates.

@CoffeeFirst wow thank you. I appreciate the info! This site is amazing filled with wonderful people such as yourself. I hope you find what you're looking for!

@emPATHicwarrior33 The other career that always needs people is desktop support for PCs for a company. You're welcome and good luck!

it's just getting to the part where intention enters the equation.
emPATHicwarrior33 · 31-35, M
@blendednotshaken I've actually began reading into intention a lot lately. Rather fascinating
