Is it their right to denigrate people?

People in the public eye, as in Rugby Players who represent the country, seem it is okay to use their religious views to castigate non believers.
Australia's Israel Folau lost his position in the Australian side for saying the LGBTIQ community members will go to hell for disobeying "God's" Orders.
He continues today by saying that the fires devastating Australia, claiming 6 lives and destroying over 500 homes is "God's" punishment for supporting the LGBTIQ community.
The Australian Christian lobby fully supports his views.
Surely if one does not have anything supportive to say then they should keep their divisive views to themselves?

Dear Israel Folau

Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law.
I have learned a great deal from you, and try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can.

When someone tries to defend the homosexual/transsexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination ... End of debate.

I do, however, need some advice from you regarding some other elements of God's Laws and how to follow them.

These are:

1. Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighbouring nations.
A friend of mine claims that this applies to Papua New Guineans, but not New Zealanders.
Can you clarify?
Why can't I own New Zealanders?

2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of Menstrual uncleanliness - Lev.15: 19-24.
The problem is how do I tell?
I have tried asking, but most women take offence.

4. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odour for the Lord - Lev.1:9.
The problem is my neighbours.
They claim the odour is not pleasing to them.
Should I smite them?

5. I have a neighbour who insists on working on the Sabbath.
Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death.
Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or should I ask the police to do it?

6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination, Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this? Are there 'degrees' of abomination?

7. Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight.
I have to admit that I wear reading glasses.
Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle-room here?

8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27.
How should they die?

9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?

10. My uncle has a farm.
He violates Lev.19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot.........
..... Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? Lev.24:10-16.
Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair, like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)

I know you have studied these things extensively and thus enjoy considerable expertise in such matters, so I'm confident you can help.

Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging.

PS: It would be a real shame if we couldn't own a New Zealander

PPS: personally I find it morally wrong to ask for funds for this type of purpose with no intent to repay - especially if - God & heaven forbid - you win.
May your particular God go with you 👍

God holds press conference to distance Himself from Israel Folau
NOVEMBER 18, 2019

WRITTEN: BYASHA LEU
THE CHASER QUARTERLY

Creator of the universe and part-time carpenter Goddot ‘God’ Smith has today returned to earth to set a few things straight, following some renegade statements by his former spokesman Israel Folau.

“I’d just like to point out that when Folau said that same-sex marriage causes bushfires, that’s not quite technically correct,” explained God, “In that particular case Folau was expressing his own personal beliefs, and this is in no way company policy at Christianity Corp.”

“I actually quite like the gays,” he continued, “after all I did make them. Lets not forget that I’m the all powerful creator of the universe, and if I didn’t want gay people to exist, they wouldn’t be here to begin with.”

God also explained that, while he appreciates all the work Folau has put in for the team, by making these public statements, he has breached his sacred covenant with the Church and as such he will have to be let go. “I don’t like to do this, but the fact is rules are rules,” explained God, “It says this right there in the sacred contract – See under Mathew clause, 7 part 1 ‘Judge not lest ye be judged.’ Honestly I couldn’t have made it any clearer, and he has already been given one warning.”

Folau has since announced a plan to sue God for unfair dismissal, and has opened a GoFundMe seeking to raise $3 billion dollars to help him wage a holy war.

I wonder why he spoke up like that...what caused the resulting condemnation.
Gusman · 61-69, M
@Pfuzylogic My take on this is he has gained a misplaced sense of importance.
I think he is setting his life goals to be a major influencer.
Maybe he has visions of having his own congregation, the likes of Billy Graham?

@Gusman
So you are sharing that there was no cause for the statement..., he just decided to share a deeply held belief.

Whats the Austrakian Christian lobby,Australia's answer to the Westboro Baptist Church?
Gusman · 61-69, M
@bookerdana Nothing at all like those disgraceful people.
Australian Christian Lobby's vision is to see Christian principles and ethics influencing the way we are governed, do business, and relate to each other as a community.
bookerdana · M
@Gusman yeah well SUPPORTING ." that the fires devastating Australia, claiming 6 lives and destroying over 500 homes is "God's" punishment for supporting the LGBTIQ community isn't too far off
SW-User
He was a good player, but good riddance.
Gusman · 61-69, M
@SW-User pretentious people think they are so special😒
BabyLonia · F
And it is God's will he lost his job.

This kind of religious logic is disgraceful
Gusman · 61-69, M
@BabyLonia He has the full support of the Australian Christian Lobby🤔😒
ThePerfectUsername · 70-79, M
He has as much right to say that as we have to call him an obnoxious idiot for it. One thing balances the other.
