Why does everyone get so wrapped up in TV, the media and news and all the negativity around?

Eurgh! I can not stand politics...I hate talking about politics, i don't like knowing about it, i want eff all to do with it. I don't like the news, i don't like TV, i don't like negativity (I know everything i have just said can be seen as negative, but im just saying)...I don't have a TV, i barely watch TV, i like my laptop and radio...And i try to be as productive with my laptop as possible...I love learning new things. Most stuff on TV is a load of repetitive bullcrap! Why i must ask, do people insist on having a giant TV/box planted in the corner of the room and spend a lot of time watching it? People get so wrapped up in soaps and series as if its real life. Why? It baffles me...
I'm not one of those individuals. I don't watch television. I think that reality shows are the worst. My mental health comes first. I don't want all that darkness clouding my senses and bringing me down. Negativity sucks the soul out of you and contributes to more negative damaging energy.
@Solitudebluebell: thanks. First was really just a small sampling of my thoughts and experiences at that time.
Sound great, well done!...I would like to get my lyric, diary's and poems published, that's one on my to do list. Self expression is very important. And giving hope/light/inspiration/a positive message for others too...
Thank you. And best wishes on your own endeavors.

I saw a like 70 year old lady buying a huge hd flat screen. more like own theatre. I was like what the hell?
Lol really? I would of struck up a conversation and swapped numbers (just in case you and your mates wanna watch a good film in HD cinematic surround sound) Hahahaha!
Nah im joking...Mad aint it...I mean, makes me laugh, people were once happy with a radio for the whole house, then a crappy little black and white box, then a tri colour TV, then a heavy lump of a box...Then a fancy skinnier one...Now these anorexic massive flat things that take up half a wall! I mean, she should of just got a projector screen! Lol. Or not bothered getting anything at all...

Totally agree. I only watch sports or Netflix. No soundbites, fake concern, or inciteful sloganry allowed.
Oh, I'm with you on the politics part.. I don't do politics.
Good stuff, why is that? Is there a specific reason?

You should probably keep an eye on the politics, it's going to affect your life.

@Solitudebluebell: yeah sometimes its worth to just take the pepsi instead of going through the ordeal of asking them if they have coke instead, you feel me?
@MartinTheFirst: Yeah i suppose so actually...But still, why is it so important? It seems like its drummed into us, and i don't believe a word of any of it.

@Solitudebluebell: Oh you dont feel me hehe.. 😅 with that i meant that all the effort youd have to go through every 4th year may just not be worth the small change that choosing between bad and worse would produce.
Politics is important.
Hmmm...There are more important things in life that i could focus on...No?

So, why's it important?
One focus does not mean exluding other important things. Politics is the art of controlling your environment. That is one of the key things I learned in these years, and I learned it the hard way. Anybody who thinks that ‘it doesn’t matter who’s President’ has never been Drafted and sent off to fight and die in a vicious, stupid War on the other side of the World — or been beaten and gassed by Police for trespassing on public property — or been hounded by the IRS for purely political reasons — or locked up in the Cook County Jail with a broken nose and no phone access and twelve perverts wanting to stomp your ass in the shower. That is when it matters who is President or Governor or Police Chief. That is when you will wish you had voted.

@Solitudebluebell: Ah yes i welded for 2 years as well, really fun stuff. Picked a lock 5 times a week ago, it was easier than i thought. Of course, I draw and write on it.

Same, same. Sounds good. Is survical tactics in the same genre as health and safety? In that case we're pretty similar in a lot of things tbh.
Aw really? Cool! What levels did you do?
ah wicked! What did you pick them with? Bent bit of coke can or something more sophisticated? Lol

I don't think so, the H + S is part of my studying, signs, laws, COSHH, RIDDOR, PUWER ect...But survival is brilliant aswell, defiantly something i plan on getting more into, edible plants, traps ect...As it will help me towards some plans.

@Solitudebluebell: Just the basics really, it was a side course i took, very much worth it. How about you? Oh, I sawed up a piece of metal and shaped it into a decent lockpick with sandpaper.

Uuuh that's some heavy stuff, not generally someones hobby hehe. Thats cool
