Why does everyone get so wrapped up in TV, the media and news and all the negativity around?

Eurgh! I can not stand politics...I hate talking about politics, i don't like knowing about it, i want eff all to do with it. I don't like the news, i don't like TV, i don't like negativity (I know everything i have just said can be seen as negative, but im just saying)...I don't have a TV, i barely watch TV, i like my laptop and radio...And i try to be as productive with my laptop as possible...I love learning new things. Most stuff on TV is a load of repetitive bullcrap! Why i must ask, do people insist on having a giant TV/box planted in the corner of the room and spend a lot of time watching it? People get so wrapped up in soaps and series as if its real life. Why? It baffles me...

@Solitudebluebell: Well my parents do, but they dont have much else going for them in their free time i guess so i cant blame them. Personally no, i do not watch the Tv, i only use my computer and like you I want to stay productive.

Lol, i wonder what they would do if the TV was down for a week? Im sure they would go back to basics and start sewing, cleaning and reading more lol...

@Solitudebluebell: Well most likely continue building on our house, clean, read as you said. Itd be better tbh.

Everything really, all the way from "life hacks", over to computer related science, over to casting and refining metals, over to picking locks, over to religion. Yup, i like a lot. Usually I write on my book or draw illustration art or drawings for my book that will be hopefully turned into a manga novel that will sell someday.

Aw wow, wicked, metals is interesting...I studied welding and fabrication for 2 years! Picking locks and drawing is good! Have you started your manga novel yet?

I tend to either do my coursework, look up health and safety regulations, look at ways to make things, wiki how (for random stuff), i search questions I've been thinking of, religion, language's, spiritual stuff...I like writing lyrics and poems...

@Solitudebluebell: Ah yes i welded for 2 years as well, really fun stuff. Picked a lock 5 times a week ago, it was easier than i thought. Of course, I draw and write on it.

Same, same. Sounds good. Is survical tactics in the same genre as health and safety? In that case we're pretty similar in a lot of things tbh.

ah wicked! What did you pick them with? Bent bit of coke can or something more sophisticated? Lol

I don't think so, the H + S is part of my studying, signs, laws, COSHH, RIDDOR, PUWER ect...But survival is brilliant aswell, defiantly something i plan on getting more into, edible plants, traps ect...As it will help me towards some plans.
