Angry with nanny

I really do feel she is being childish here.
She has looked after my son after school for 4 years. My ex and I split last year and she splits her time between the two homes.
Before the big summer break I asked her as always to carry on with the new school year. Three weeks later things changed as I got news that my house sale was about to go through. I told her that I wanted her to get a train and a bus to my new house with my son. She said she wanted expenses paid for extra travel and time and I decided that it wouldn't work and suggested she leave the job. She was not happy as she said she now didn't have time to find a new job before the school term starts and that I have been insensitive not telling her that I was moving. She said she deserved more consideration and respect. I am angry as feel she has over reacted and I now see a different side. Who is right here?
Do you know how much the train and bus will cost her compared to now?It may mean it is financially not worth her working for you.Find out and if she is that good and you can bear the cost come to an arrangement. If not then let her go.

@TheSirfurryanimalWales Nearly £10. I can't afford to cover her expenses
@Jenni855Then she has to go.No right or wrong here.
Jenni855 · 36-40, F
@TheSirfurryanimalWales I know. I am not in the wrong. It's just how its worked out.

She is pet. She has a perfect right to be compensated for extra time and expenses incurred by your house move that she had no control over whatsoever.
Jenni855 · 36-40, F
@ThePerfectUsername The fact I can't do so is not my fault though.
ThePerfectUsername · 70-79, M
Well it's certainly not her fault pet. It was your choice to go through with a move that created this situation without first establishing what it would be likely to cost so the onus is very much on you to come up with a solution. @Jenni855
FreeSpirit1 · 51-55, F
I'm on her side, sorry.
Jenni855 · 36-40, F
@FreeSpirit1 Can you explain why?
FreeSpirit1 · 51-55, F
@Jenni855 because the situation has changed and you're putting it on her to adjust to your move. Give her a raise to cover the travel if she's a good nanny.
Jenni855 · 36-40, F
@FreeSpirit1 I cant do that which isn't my fault. I am a single parent now.
Butterflykisses24 · 51-55, F
It's in a month adaquate time.
Butterflykisses24 · 51-55, F
@Jenni855 how much farther is your home
Butterflykisses24 · 51-55, F
@Jenni855 it is unfair you asking her to cover train and bus fare.
Jenni855 · 36-40, F
@Butterflykisses24 I can't afford to do so. Unfortunately its just one of those situations.
GerOttman · 61-69, M
No one! Sounds like a level 3 cluster clump all around. No winners.
Jenni855 · 36-40, F
@GerOttman Yes she needs to stop pointing the finger of blame at me.
curiosi · 61-69, F
I hope she leaves and finds a new job. It is the best thing for her.
Jenni855 · 36-40, F
@curiosi I don't think I have been unreasonable though.
Coralmist · 41-45, F
Would you be able to cover half her travel cost?
Jenni855 · 36-40, F
@Coralmist She is angry, she won't do it now.
