If a toxic person in your life managed to turn other people against you,

and you could absolutely destroy them simply by telling everyone the truth about how they gossip around, would you do it? Or would you try to be the bigger person, accept that those who believe them aren't worth it, and move on?
I've had toxic people in my life who tried to poison the minds of others against me. They succeeded in tearing me apart very well. I didn't stoop to their level. I still believe that people will generally believe what they are told and never question it. If people got to know me, some might still hate me, but others might be pleasantly surprised. But I'm going to keep striving to be the person I intend to be. It's rough feeling everyone is against me, but I'm the type that has a very deep faith. If God is for me, then who is against me simply has no relevance. God has put a few good people in my life that has given me the strength to go on. The consequences of malicious gossip has changed my life forever. I face that public scorn and wrath all the time. But I have been stronger and wiser through it. God blessed me with very painful experiences not to hurt me, but to guide me closer to the person I was meant to be. I'm still ostracized, but I remain strong and continue to put my best foot forward. Some day perhaps the tide will turn. It's not over until I leave this world. God sees something worthy in me. There is hope that others might see it too one day. If not, I will know I gave life my best.

Wow, thank you for sharing that. It gave me a lot to think about and you are right, some people don't realize how harmful malicious gossip can truly be.
I'm happy that you are able to see the positive side of it and you keep pushing through. It takes a very strong person to do that, so much respect. 👍
@NineLives: thank you very much. Your kind words touch me deeply.

If the truth could help someone, then you should tell it. Unfortunately, sometimes the truth is harder to believe than the lies... so if you give people the truth, they might not believe you anyway. I believe, in one way or another, the truth will speak for itself no matter what we do. I know it can be hard to do... but you know the truth, so find your comfort in that and let others do as they will.

I kicked her to the curb and I have no use for the people who turned against me based just on her words. They are all toxic

It happened to me...
There was nothing I could do. They all saw him as a sweet, charismatic, fun person with a good heart. But I knew who he truly was.
There was really no point in trying to tell them; they wouldn't have believed me and it probably would have made me look petty in their eyes.

My ex husband did that, I left them all to each other..he couldn't tell the truth if his life depended on it..

I'd wish them into the cornfield. Toxic people are never worth having as friends.

My ex wife tried to do just that but I kept my mouth shut cuz I have this belief that metaphorically if ya give someone enough rope eventually they will hang themselves which is exactly what happened she couldn't keep her story straight and the truth came out
