My best friend Luke was dating a girl who wore Misfits gear on a regular basis, but he found out that she thought it was a trendy clothing brand.

When she told him, he got so angry that he beat her up, and he got arrested for it, as you would expect. But even though he committed a crime and beat the shit out of an innocent person, I'd never been so proud of him.

Now that’s what I call a real man.

@SW-User I don't know you but I already like you.
JammieDodgerHeart · 26-30, F
@SW-User beating up women is a real man?
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@JammieDodgerHeart He's only being sarcastic for comedic purposes.

Slightly off topic, they're worth seeing, original lineup, if you have to travel. Been a member of The Fiend Club for decades now.

@BlueMetalChick I have the Horror Business E.P. signed by Glen, Jerry, Doyle, and Robo. It took me awhile to get all the signitures.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@SheikYerbouti I miss Robo 🥁
SheikYerbouti · 51-55, M
@BlueMetalChick Definitely their best drummer. He was good with Black Flag too.
deadgerbil · 26-30, M
*wears Misfits gear in front of you bc I think it's trendy :P
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@deadgerbil Instigator 😏
ScarletWitch · 31-35, F
Not cool tho.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@ScarletWitch Not cool, no, because domestic violence is a felony. But ma'am I cannot tell a lie and I'd be full of shit if I didn't tell you I wasn't wildly amused by it.
JammieDodgerHeart · 26-30, F
That's horrible. Why would you be proud of someone beating someone up over clothing?

@AgapeLove Wow, that would be the stickiest situation I've ever been in lmao

I once beat someone up for wearing a Beethoven t-shirt, because the only thing he wrote that they were aware of was the first four notes of the Fifth Symphony. They didn’t deserve to wear that shirt. It got me six months in the can but it was worth it.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@LeopoldBloom At least he knew that Beethoven was a musician instead of thinking he was like a fuckin' basketball player or something.
@BlueMetalChick Not good enough!

@IstillmissEP "Gear" just refers to various pieces of clothing or accessories. T-shirts, hats, key chains, maybe phone wallpapers, that kinda stuff. She wore stuff with the Misfits band on it, like their band logo or their "Crimson Ghost" symbol.

you think its trendy too
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@lightningblue It's not trendy though, why would I think that?
lightningblue · 26-30, M
@BlueMetalChick because you think like that girl
Groofydorkgerdo · 56-60, M
Ya mean Misfits, the music group?
FormerPadresfan · 26-30, M
*blatantly mocks punk rock in front of you and then says...* Welcome back mademoiselle
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@FormerPadresfan Oh you sure know how to instigate 😈
Jm31xxx · 46-50, M
Id be proud to have you as an enemy then
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@Jm31xxx I know "high functioning" doesn't refer to being high. I was trying make fun of you.

If your boss knows you're stoned at work and does nothing about it then he's either a shitty boss or you do some type of menial labor in which being under the influence isn't a liability. Which is not to insult you for performing menial labor, either. There's no shame in working a job like that.

Passing exams in school is a cinch. There's no challenge in that. I got the highest score in my entire senior class on the ACT exam and I went into it having been awake for 52 hours straight and had eating nothing for breakfast but a can of cake frosting. Passing tests in schools is, usually, pretty damn easy..

I appreciate you saying that my profession is extremely important. The "nuts and bolts" of it aren't boring to me, but they are tedious and require lots of checking, double checking, and attention to pedantic details that most people can't do even when not under the influence.

No, I'm not pissed because I had a fantasy about what astronomy work is like. I was a much angrier person before I found a job in my field. I'm an angry person because I grew up in a fucking war zone watching people get brutally murdered every day, that's why I'm angry all the time. I saw a significant improvement in my emotional stability when I got this job because I like it so much that it gives me something to do with my time, something to focus on, something I like to do and that provides a challenge for me. I'm not doing coffee runs for anyone, much less "fat neckbeards" who talk about Dungeons and Dragons. Nobody like that even works here. In fact, most of my coworkers and superiors are Finns, who talk at each other in a language I can't understand and who routinely bring odd pastries to work with them to snack on.
Jm31xxx · 46-50, M
@BlueMetalChick if they eat pastry - routinely - then they're probably at least fat. And if you can't understand them, they could be all bragging about their weekend DnD adventures for all you know.

My work is very menial (and very physically demanding, thats how I know I burn up more fuel than you).... But when I had a sit down job which necessitated multi tasking, both macro and micro, I did just fine and I was stoned then too. Just hated sitting down all day
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@Jm31xxx They're small pastries. Smaller than an average donut. And look at me, I eat a TON of sweets from pastries to candy to ice cream, and I'm medically underweight.

You don't burn up more fuel than I do in a day. Maybe at your job vs. my job, yes, but my day outside of work consists of an excess of physical activity for a variety of reasons. Unless you're a bike messenger or a physical trainer, you're not more active per day than I am.
texasdaddydom · 56-60, M
I forget how dark you can be sometimes lol
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@texasdaddydom As a violent person myself I tend to condone more of it than most people.
texasdaddydom · 56-60, M
I honestly try to avoid violence up until the point someone is actually attacking me or threatening someone I care about. Stepping in between strangers is iffy cause I got jumped by a female I was protecting. guy was literally smacking her to the ground and kicked her, I faced off with him and he started backing up she jumped on top of me from behind...think she was trying to get in good graces with her abuser. On instinct, I flipped her over into him and got the fuck out of there. guess I should have asked if she wanted help lol
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@texasdaddydom I grew up in a situation where preemptive violence was usually the only way to prevent getting killed so it's kind of a force of habit thing for me these days.
Elegy · 46-50
That's a beautiful story of domestic abuse and ignorance.
Elegy · 46-50
@BlueMetalChick Seems disproportionate IMHO but I see that your point is that you think it is not. ;)
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@Elegy I'd feel differently if he'd really beaten her up badly, but she's fine. She's got a split lip, but other than that she's not injured. Had he fucked her up I wouldn't be laughing like I am.
Elegy · 46-50
@BlueMetalChick My last statement still stands however I'm glad to know you see a line. My line is just a little different. Mine would have been ridicule but some would have seen that as mental abuse so...
