How can I move out of my parent's house?

I hate being another millennial statistic. And please, don't get the wrong idea...I don't hate my parents or anything like that. I just want a place of my own. Preferably an apartment. My house contains so many bad memories and negative energy. I just have to get away. Unfortunately, my funds don't agree with me. No matter how much I work, the funds are just never enough. Well, at least not enough to get my own place. I feel like I'm in a losing battle. I feel like as long as I'm living with my parents, I'll never evolve into anything positive. I'm reaching my breaking point.

I see no reason to be critical of you but if you’re working to your limit and don’t want a roommate, I see no options but to stay where you are until perhaps you can get some job training which will allow you to bring in more income. There’s no magic solution here.

@LyricalOne I agree. It'll be a challenge. But i'd much rather live on my own than with roommates.

@StrangeLife94 I hear ya. Never been the roommate type myself. Hopefully the second job you mentioned will give you enough income to get out on your own.

I know a lot of people at my work in your age group who are in the same situation. Rents where i live are so high. I think now most seem to either keep living at home, rent with a partner, or house share with random strangers which can have a lot of issues.

@MarkPaul A simple yes or no would do just saying
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Chickie Yes, I thought that was clear.

@MarkPaul Comments are everywhere on this thread if you already answered it missed. That is all seesh

@StrangeLife94 Lol I asked the same Q last year and they said I’m leeching off my parents and what not, not even one helpful answer 🤷🏻‍♀️
StrangeLife94 · 26-30, M
@SW-User And they wonder why the millennials are confused. There's no sense of balance.

@PainfulTruth
"Fucking millennials"
Really? Don't be so quick to condemn an entire generation.

@StrangeLife94 Seriously dude, you post a story asking for help and then reject every bit of advice that is offered. You say you can't have a roommate because you're hard to live with. Then change. You say you can't get a second job because it's hard or whatever. So what? Get the second job. The point is, YOU make the choices and YOU determine your life. No one else. If you want to keep living with your parents, then do it. If you don't, then don't. It's not that complicated. I live in a TINY two-room apartment and I pay my own rent.

If you hate being another MILLENNIAL statistic, get a second job, work 60+ hours a week, learn what a budget is, get some work ethics, save your money, then you can get you own place and not be a statistic.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@StrangeLife94 But, you won't make any accommodations for reality. So, basically you just want to complain. Is that it?
StrangeLife94 · 26-30, M
@MarkPaul I was asking for advise. Instead, all I got was overly bashing nowhere comments. But as of today, I think I found a new 2nd job. So hopefully that'll help out. But I definitely don't have you to thank.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@StrangeLife94 That was the original advice that you tossed aside. Maybe now, finally, you will get a taste of what the real-world is like. Congrats.

Get a roommate or room mates, that's what I did at 18 when my parents made me leave.
StrangeLife94 · 26-30, M
@Elegy Well that escalated quickly.
Elegy · 46-50
@StrangeLife94 don't be a bitch, it's you or them here. Clearly this is your only option.
StrangeLife94 · 26-30, M
@Elegy I'd prefer not to go down that road.
MURD3RM0NK3Y · 26-30, M
It's really hard. You have to save lots of money and then just find a stable job to keep paying rent

StrangeLife94 · 26-30, M
@MarkPaul Huh?
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@StrangeLife94 Do you know what parents are? Do you know what funding means? Put them together.
StrangeLife94 · 26-30, M
@MarkPaul Nah. I'm good.

@SW-User Congrats! and Congrats! And you're not old until you hit 23 (almost 24) like me! ;)

@sarabee1995 Ty and haha unlike most people your age, you sound really calm and balanced
sarabee1995 · 26-30, F
@SW-User Good thing there's no such thing as reading minds. ;) There's nothing close to calm or balanced inside my head!

Im 30 and i don't have a home. Im currently living with my aunt's family
Choose between having roommates or being a burden on your parents ... been there, done that.
Chickie · F
Holy shit everyone is so fucking rude in the comments
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@StrangeLife94 I think you're missing the point.
StrangeLife94 · 26-30, M
@MarkPaul You have no point.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@StrangeLife94 How can you be so close minded?
