The world population is dropping very quickly. sad to say.
MiraRoss · 31-35, F
@hippyjoe1955 it's not wrong
MiraRoss · 31-35, F
@WoodyAq and your right people are living longer meaning the population is larger, it's not decreasing too much
WoodyAq · M
@hippyjoe1955 It conflicts with the one you made up in your head?

One of many sources:

This entry focuses on the number of births per woman in a population. The most commonly used metric is the Total Fertility Rate (TFR) – or often simply 'fertility rate' – which measures the average number of children per woman. The global average fertility rate is just below 2.5 children per woman today.Dec 2, 2017

we're at about 7.5 billion, I think.

Ideal according to who? and exactly which ideals?
firefall · 61-69, M
@hippyjoe1955 No, you clearly cant think, or understand. You've long proven that with your ridiculous opinions based on things you pull out of your arse.
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@firefall So what is replacement level genius?
firefall · 61-69, M
@hippyjoe1955 ok, if you dont understand basic terms, I give up
Prisoner619 · 26-30, M
Really? We can sustain up to 10 billion people with our current food production
MiraRoss · 31-35, F
@Prisoner619 no we can't look at the world people, kid are dieing around the world because they don't have food
firefall · 61-69, M
@MiraRoss and thats 100% about how food is distributed, not the lack of food. People have always been dying in large quantities because they dont have food, because famine is a political act, a choice made by whoever has control of power in a specific territory.
hippyjoe1955 · 70-79, M
@MiraRoss Actual starvation levels have dropped dramatically. The problem is socialist politics causing poverty not shortage of food.
MiraRoss · 31-35, F
Paul Ehrlich said, if you know who that is
WoodyAq · M
@room101 Yep. Wrong one. The one who wrote about the population bomb. Big sensation in the 1970s, but the predictions bombed.
room101 · 51-55, M
@WoodyAq Yeah, I now know who you mean. My mistake.
WoodyAq · M
@room101 No worries. I thought you were confusing him with Thomas Malthus, who made the same basic predictions in the 1820s.
WoodyAq · M
~7 billion.

Who says 2 billion is ideal?
something like 7 billion
WoodyAq · M
@Mondayschild You might have missed a few zeros there ...
@WoodyAq haha looks that way!🤪

It’s about 7.7 billion from what I read last.
AlienZipper · 61-69, M

TexChik · F
