@puck61 You assume that everyone is guilty and lying? The innocent deserve protection. The victims deserve prosecution of the guilty, not the innocent.
And the design of our legal system requires that both guilty and innocent are defended appropriately, because in the (flawed) process it is essential that two sides of the argument are wrestled with. After all, police get it wrong for many reasons.

@Abstraction Of course not, but even a judge will often advise a defendant to plead 'not guilty'. It is 'procedure'.

@Hugosfbay I don't randomly shoot people, but California immigration lawyers did unhook someone who 'did' randomly shoot someone! I would imagine they must have played a part in that travesty. The USA is made up of immigrants, but there really needs to be some kind of reform. The winking and shrugging has gone too far in my opinion. Typical right wing response of course.

In the tape, which has never before been released, she explains that she used a legal technicality to plead down the charges on Taylor to a lesser charge. He was convicted of “child fondling” instead of rape and served only 10 months in prison.
What’s also clear from the tape is that Clinton knew that Taylor was guilty of raping a 12 year old girl and she wasn’t required to take the case in the first place. She took it as a favor to a friend.

I'd rather be a prosecutor. Lawyers generally get horrible people out of trouble. Prosecutors generally give people what they have coming. It stands to reason. Naturally right wing reactionary authoritarians like myself would be more into sadistic prosecution than masochistic defense ! Suffer bitch! Suffer! The system hungers! Feed it!
