Do you prefer to suppress your emotions rather than letting them affect you?

You cannot suppress your emotions but you can just observe them instead of indulging. Get a journal and write everything you observe until it passes. Or just observe. Or divert those emotions to something like focus on breathing or TV or many things but hopefully you do something creative and useful.

With the use of daily quite meditation, I will be aware the instant my Ego wants revenge or be upset with the person. Our EGO is not our friend, it can over react when small or big issues arise. Getting emotional can cause things to heat up unnecessary.

Then to, we get triggered, reminder of some old hurt. So take a breath and say to yourself "am I upset for reason that I think I am" the more you question, the more you see that you get triggered and your EGO wants revenge.

We need to have them all, be it sad or happy, the issue is when one of them dominate and this effects your daily life. Seek help then.

Depends on the situation, sometimes nothing is better then to cry. However, if you panic and cry during an exam you loose your focus, so you need to suppress it.

I outwardly suppress my emotions , but in private reflect upon them , and I would be lying if I said they did not affect me in ways , good and bad

Some, yes.. but once you lock out too many, what is the point if you are not feeling anything?

It's not that I prefer it. Sometimes you just have to. But then sometimes, you just explode. So it depends.

I prefer to focus them into a condensed beam and burns words into the surface of an emerald
