Now that the word black is politically incorrect What word can we use instead of black ?

Is this what Fox is pretending to be mad about this week?
@TJNewton Not possible, because you said: Now that the word black is politically incorrect What word can we use instead of black ?

As always, so much depends upon context. The situation, the individuals, the relationships. I know a former colleague and still long time friend who was a Black Panther back in the days of Black Power. We have the sort of relationship in which she refers to herself as the Chocolate Bunny and I will call her that as well -- but we have that kind of relationship, and I wouldn't do it in public or a work setting.

Communication is all about knowing your audience, and matching semantics to situations in order to communicate rather than trying to provoke.
@dancingtongue Ah, "CONTEXT"--the word that Claudine Gay made famous!

@NeuroticByNature When I was a kid, like in 1st grade I had a black friend and we got on the whole subject of why there were so many different colored people. We ended up agreeing God used a toaster to color us and Black people got left in the toaster too long.

The Spanish name for black negro?
specman · 51-55, M
@specman wait... are we talking about the color? I hope so because if we are talking about the black people what I answered sounds offensive. I don't want to offend anyone!
TJNewton · M
@specman It applies to both
specman · 51-55, M
@TJNewton some black folks refer to white folks as “ cracker “ . So a fitting name to refer to them folks would be “ moon pie “. That’s only fair. I don’t mean to offend any folks that don’t refer to that name. Me myself refer to black folks “ black people”. I don’t mean to offend anyone. Just like I refer to Caucasian people as white people.
