I don't know what I expected, but it certainly wasn't this

I recently joined couple of trans groups on facebook and learned:
1. If I show any doubt during my ONE video call with the experts, I won't be considered viable for further treatments in regards to my gender
2. I have to have a BMI of 30 or less to get hormone treatments
3. I have to have a BMI of 28 or less to get the surgeries
4. I have to pay the surgeries myself

As someone who's always been overweight and has been on a fixed income the last 5,5 years, I feel like things are hopeless right now. But I want and need this, so I'm willing to stop drinking, eating candy/snacks, using nicotine, and whatever else it takes to become my true self.

I just wish I knew this sooner so it wouldn't come as such a surprise all at once. It's bad 3nough that a complete stranger I never met before is in charge of my future happiness and only requires one session via video to make a desicion.

And another thing I'm worried about is my Hidradenitis suppurativa. It's a skin condition that causes abcesses by hair removal. Some have it in their pits, some in their groin, some in both places.
I have it in my groin, and I can't even trim the hair there without getting an abcess.
When the time comes for my bottom surgery to happen, I'll have to remove all hair from there. If, or rather when, an abcess occurs I won't be viable for surgery bc of the bacteria in said abcess.

Again, this feels like a hopeless situation. But maybe laser removal will do the trick? Idk.

I get the impression that Norway is especially difficult. I'm vaguely considering getting breast implants but not doing anything else. I' hoping that if I ever do get up the nerve to ask about it that it will just be a case of paying for it.

@ninalanyon From what I understand, medical procedures are free, superficial ones are paid for by the patient. Since transpeople need a diagnosis and thorough evaluations before even being considered for surgery, I assumed top and bottom surgery were seen as medical.

@LordBarbossa Then women having breast enhancements ought to require an evaluation too! Or is only the removal of something that requires evaluation. This is part of why I'm dithering, I'm afraid to ask in case I get the wrong answer.

@ninalanyon transwomen should get top and bottom surgery too, yes.

@LordBarbossa can I ask do you dress just at home or do you dress when going out
LordBarbossa · 36-40, TNew
@Strictdad1965 at home I wear pj bottoms and a tank top. Outside I wear sweatpants and a hoodie or, if it's warm, a t-shirt with a bra (my chesticles are too big not to wear support when only wearing a shirt)
Strictdad1965 · 56-60, MVIP
@LordBarbossa do you ever wear dresses or skirts?
LordBarbossa · 36-40, TNew
@Strictdad1965 only when forced to
Strictdad1965 · 56-60, MVIP
@LordBarbossa who would force you to? Hope I’m not asking too many questions
LordBarbossa · 36-40, TNew
@Strictdad1965 If I feel you're asking too much or too personal, I simply won't answer.

My mom has a way of forcing people to do what they don't want to
Strictdad1965 · 56-60, MVIP
@LordBarbossa thank you for answering has your mom ever made you go out in a dress or skirt?
LordBarbossa · 36-40, TNew
@Strictdad1965 for special occasions, yes. Other times she simply complains about me not dressing well enough
Strictdad1965 · 56-60, MVIP
@LordBarbossa thank you for answering all my questions I think you are awesome and hope everything goes well on your surgeries
LordBarbossa · 36-40, TNew
@Strictdad1965 thank you again 💜
