No. I acknowledge people want to be called different things and on an individual basis I will recognize those personal preferences (within practical reason), but there are only 2 genders in biological terms, religious and philosophical perspectives, and reality.

@MarkPaul There's also intersex.

@Emosaur It has everything to do with biology. Read the Scientific American article, genius.
Peaceandnamaste · 26-30, F
@MarkPaul Gender is identity and Sex is biological.

Gender is cultural.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Peaceandnamaste You are gaslighting and splitting hairs. Gender is the male sex or the female sex. The fact that there are cultural considerations is irrelevant for purposes of a general conversation of this type.

@Emosaur He has none.

@MarkPaul If it is a general conversation and not a specific one all aspects matter so also the cultural one

@MarkPaul What do you care if someone is a biological woman or a trans woman? There isn't ANY kind of woman who would be interested in you anyways.

@MarkPaul Relevant sections from the WHO webpage:
Gender refers to the characteristics of women, men, girls and boys that are socially constructed. This includes norms, behaviours and roles associated with being a woman, man, girl or boy, as well as relationships with each other. As a social construct, gender varies from society to society and can change over time.

Gender interacts with but is different from sex, which refers to the different biological and physiological characteristics of females, males and intersex persons, such as chromosomes, hormones and reproductive organs. Gender and sex are related to but different from gender identity. Gender identity refers to a person’s deeply felt, internal and individual experience of gender, which may or may not correspond to the person’s physiology or designated sex at birth.
@MarkPaul Gaslighting is defined as "manipulate (someone) using psychological methods into questioning their own sanity or powers of reasoning."
There is zero gaslighting in Peaceandnamaste's words, "Gender is identity and Sex is biological. Gender is cultural."
She is simply stating facts now widely accepted and understood in many academic and professional disciplines, including neuroscience, sociology, anthropology, cultural studies and psychology.
You might have heard the term "hermaphrodite". The term is derived from Greek mythological God “Hermaphroditos” son of Hermes and Aphrodite, whose body after being merged with nymph Salmakis assumed a more perfect form with both male and female attributes. Both the ancient Greeks and pre-Christian Romans had references to hermaphrodites in their literature. Even St Augustus made reference to consorting with them in the hedonistic life he led prior to his conversion and adoption of celibacy.
On certain islands in the Pacific, about 1 in 10 males are born intersex and infertile. Because they were always so common, they were widely accepted before Christian missionaries arrived. They were called "aunties" and usually helped mothers and women with child rearing, being regarded as extremely valuable members of the community.
All this suggests that prejudice arises from being uncomfortable with things that are unfamiliar. And prejudice can disappear when ignorance is dispelled by knowledge and understanding.
The moral aspect of this is that no one deserves to be rejected for something they are born with, a condition over which they have no control. Nor should anyone be rejected if the choices they make for their own lives cause no harm to others.

@hartfire You are going down a rabbit hole that is neither practical nor useful. I am compelled to renew my charge of gaslighting and extend it to you.

Among certain troubled individuals in the population at large. people fall madly in love with cars, buildings, and bridges. They love their physical attractions with all their might. To them, their love is real. It can't be denied, but I don't endorse or promote that romantic love should or needs to be redefined for practical purposes to accommodate this one-off behaviour.

@hartfire I think we both know what's going on here...
@LordShadowfire I challenge you to look up and quote the definition of gaslighting,
and then show how transadvocacy fits that definition. Please.

By the way, your meme is technically a nice piece of artwork.
Was it easy to collage together?

It doesn't. I'm saying that @MarkPaul is projecting when he uses that word.

I can't take the credit. I Googled "steampunk projectionist".
@LordShadowfire Thanks for the clarification. :)
