Seeing as it's Pride Month, I'd like to share a story of my best friend

I've been friends with him since we were both eight years old. I was one of the first people he came out to as gay. He was scared his friends and family (the latter of which were/are very homophobic) would reject him. He hated himself. He tried to turn to religious conservation to "cure" himself. Needless to say it didn't work.

Years later after he got a decent paying job and lived on his own, he became so scared of his family and this conservative town we grew up would hate him or worse. It culminated in him attempting suicide by overdose. I fortunately found out and stayed with him that night to make sure he doesn't hurt himself.

At the suggestion of myself, I recommended he see a psychologist (he has Generalised Anxiety Disorder) and she agreed with me that he should just come out.

He came out and while his family wasn't too chuffed, they accepted it. He's now much happier and has a boyfriend.

But when you bully someone for being gay, bi or trans, coupled with real life bigotry, they could do something bad to themselves. Maybe think bid that before attacking LGBT people or spreading hate or simply just downvoting their posts. There's a human being like you on the other end. They just like something you don't.

What about being bullied for being christian? Christians have been murdered, and so have Jews, My hope is in my faith and I have joy regardless of bullying from my family and elsewhere. Why would I be suicidal because I am bullied? No I sincerely believe there is a Satanic movement a deception that produces depression cutting behaviors confusion who one is, and suicidal hopeless feelings. It is what Jesus said "Do not be deceived" it is a Satanic deception in the last generation before he comes back.

@Carazaa I responded to you on your thread.

Christians in the West are not murdered.
In the Middle East, sure, and I stand with the Christian Armenians, Greeks and Assyrians.

There is nothing satanic about treating people with equal rights. Your own religion says you're not allowed to judge. Jesus sat with the sinners.

@basilfawlty89 I was hated and spit on by my Mom because I am a christian !

@Carazaa that's an exception to the rule. Most people in the West are Christians. At least nominally.

That's terrible and should not happen.

So take that experience, the feeling you had when it happened to you, and remember that the next time you feel the urge to hate and metaphorically spit on someone, and then realized it's just as messed up when it happens to us.

And maybe.....just maybe...if we all stop spitting on each other, things will get better.

@Carazaa so are you under the impression most people in the US are Muslims or something? Because most people in the US state their faith as Christian.
Carazaa · F
@basilfawlty89 Most people who are christians are bullied in their own families!

@Carazaa I think this has to do with Basil's friend, not you as a Christian. How did you manage to make it all about yourself, there's Christians who aren't anti gay and some Christians are gay, though it isn't many that are. However there have been a few in the closet that came out like pastors and stuff.

You should say to Basil instead, "gee, I'm glad your friend is doing better now, it's never okay to belittle or abuse someone for being who they are." Thank you!

@SatanBurger
You missed my point! This has to do with depression and it's causes, nothing to do with being bullied or persecuted for being, Jewish, Christian, Palestinian, Ukranian, Black, or a woman, as some are bullied, attacked and murdered, many more than anyone gay or in the closet.

Let's not be naive and assume that it is the cause of the cutting, depression, wanting to die, anxiety and suicide. That is an assumption, and naive, because as God tells us,it is a symptom of something entirely different. All one has to do is read God's word and he explains it, but people don't do that, nor teach their kids. So kids are lost!

@Carazaa But this post is about his friend and his personal issues, who are you to say whose personal issues are?
Carazaa · F
@SatanBurger I think you missed his point too!

I have never hated anyone, but because of Christ's love I love everyone even those who bullied me, that's my point. We have to forgive as Jesus forgives us for everything when he died for the worlds sins. Love overcomes hate!

@Carazaa There are so many things and ways I can respond to this, both directed at you personally and generally. But, you and I have been down this path before, and brick walls aren't good at conversation. So I'll just say you have your ideas and I have mine.

May the Mother bless you and yours.
Carazaa · F
@SarahAndSamantha What? Who is "The Mother" ?
SarahAndSamantha · 51-55, T
@Carazaa You would refuse to recognize Her, so let's move on.
