I think those who complain about lack of free speech

Only do so because they don't like consequences
Horse shit- cancel culture is toxic, if you don't like someone- don't listen to 'em!

Obviously it stops at promoting terrorist groups or inciting violence.

But yeah, angry people on the spectrum chanting the same phrase over and over again don't get to dictate what others listen to.

In the words of Candace Owens "Life's tough, get a helmet man"

@LordShadowfire Mocking teenagers? It was an adult and lots of people hold that viewpoint whether you like it or not.

I said it was a funny cartoon- with a fair point.

Also I've never made fun of suicide, nor would I.
@BritishFailedAesthetic It wasn't a funny cartoon. It was a bit of hate speech. It didn't make a good point at all. It served to promote a position of hatred.

I didn't say you did. I said that the type of hateful agenda that cartoon promotes has led to trans teenagers committing suicide.

I complain about lack of free speech if free speech is restricted.
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
@Entwistle Exactly.
Only the Right. When the Left talks about the lack of free speech, it's because the Right is banning books.

@BohemianBoo i was particularly thinking of morons like tate, ben shaprio and matt walsh
@Guitarman123 Yeah, when those people complain about lacking free speech, what they really mean is that they can't defend their dogshit takes.
Guitarman123 · 31-35, M
@BohemianBoo agreed. They know how horrid it'll make them sound
Absolutely. And consequence-free speech isn’t a freedom that exists anywhere.
@Guitarman123 That’s right. Free speech for everyone , including dissenting opinions.
Guitarman123 · 31-35, M
@bijouxbroussard yes. If its particularly hateful speech then should be reported
@Guitarman123 Here, there’s a TOS that prohibits hate speech—against anyone. So that, too, is fair.

I find that those who demand the right to free speech and against "cancel culture" and those who get most upset about opposing opinions being heard, and want to "cancel" those people holding those opposing views to theirs. Free speech cuts both ways.
Guitarman123 · 31-35, M
@jackieash agreed
SW-User
Yes, most of the time. Some of them want the freedom from disagreement, frankly.
@SW-User Can confirm. I've had numerous so-called free speech absolutists censor me from sharing my opinions with them.
Those ppl who threaten consequences for opinions…
Whats freedom of speech without consequences?
MrBrownstone · 46-50, M
Exactly. People claim that the First Amendment protects them from any consequences of saying stupid things, and that's not right.
and also because, without artificial help, they don't get to cram their opinions down the throats of the majority of humanity
Guitarman123 · 31-35, M
@BlueGreenGrey yep, they go remarkably quiet
@Guitarman123 and they have a profound misunderstanding of what the term even means to begin with (and what it does not mean)

I certainly would not start my own social media company today knowing that every right wing fascist crackhead thinks that after that point, I owe them something, even though it's my site ... that they confuse me with a government
Guitarman123 · 31-35, M
@BlueGreenGrey they thrive on fear and paranoia. Without that, their nothing
