And so it begins

A woman was charged in Texas courts for "Murder" for a "self-induced abortion", appears the charges have been dropped now. Also, the woman was clearly identified and named, what ever happened to HIPPA? I'm amazed there hasn't been a mass migration out of Texass by women there...

I wouldn't doubt she is also a republican who approves of the law. Had an abortion. And still approves of the law. Because republicans are shit stain dumbfucks like that.
I told someone this is why government and laws exist. Because people are too stupid to take care of themselves. Like those coffee cups that say hot had to be created because some dumbass didn't relaize coffee comes in hot. Or the various people that try to sue McDonalds for making them fat. People can not take care of themselves.

@canusernamebemyusername tbh, what does it matter if she's Republican or Democrat? it's the Law that was enacted which is stupid. Of course the article doesn't mention how many weeks she was pregnant so that may have had some impact on why the charges were dropped. I'm going towards thinking this is the first of many "murder" charges that will be laid and it is distinctly evangelical to call an abortion "murder" so it's pretty easy to see where this is coming from.

Liberals destroyed HIPPA

@AbbySvenz We had co-workers out sick with covid. But if you asked the immediate supervisor, "oh that person is out" was the response. And most co-workers would say that it'd be a hipaa violation for HR or the supervisor to say exactly why that person was out.

But like you said, a hipaa violation would have to do with the health care provider giving out that information, without that person's knowledge or consent.
There's always birth control.
I've never been against abortion. I just personally never wanted to do it. To be honest I was horrified at the thought. I'm not going get pregnant now. I'm 49 so... @SageWanderer

@Spoiledbrat

I don't know why some people take the risk tbh.

More often than not because their religion forbids it or they are ignorant that it even exists which is saying a lot in today's age of information but it is nonetheless true... tbh, if I was a birth capable woman and "lived in Texass" I'd have mine sown shut or move the hell outta there!
Guilty as charged, is what law is. Ive no sympathy for murderer.

@checkoutanytime Since no reason for the "self-inflicted" abortion was provided, who's to say it wasn't due to rape or something like that. Would you say the same thing if it was your daughter or wife who had been raped and gotten pregnant??? I'm sure you'd raise the child now, wouldn't you?

Here we go. Anybody who doesn't see that this is all about oppressing women is either stupid or lying.
spjennifer · 61-69, T
@LordShadowfire Indeed, women are becoming second class citizens who don't even have control over their own bodies anymore, shut up, spread your legs and plop out another little Christian every 9 months sweety. How long before we see Gilead type people going for public office? 😖
LordShadowfire · 46-50, M
@spjennifer I honestly think we are.
