Got summoned for jury duty

Nooooo, what should I do???

I'm not a great communicator.

Since you are a US citizen, you are required to serve. Communication will not be required. You show up on time, and sit in a room, hopefully drinking coffee and reading your nice book, and usually the court officer comes and tells you that you are excused in a few hours. Then you go home.

IF they are having trouble settling the case, you might have to leave the courthouse and go have lunch. You don't talk to anyone while you are having lunch, and then you go back and sit in the room again.

The chances of actually being called in for jury selection are slim to none.

I don't understand why so many people hate jury duty. Yeah, it's boring to wait around, but we all have our phones to entertain us now.
tell them..
' im not sure. but i think i went to school with this guy'

dismissed.. !

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout I'll just tell them about the ammonia scrubber.
Fake an epileptic seizure in front of the judge. Got me out of jury duty everytime I've tried it.

Go.
Chances are you may not make juror selection anyway.

Tell them about how you hate cops and lawyers and judges.

Just did it in July. Voir Dire for 2 days. Interesting and tedious at the same time. They even pay you a little

I even got called into the judge's chambers. I said I wouldn't follow the judge's instructions if I knew they were wrong

You don’t need to be a great communicator to be on a jury.....they aren’t asking you to plead the case, just to decide (along with others) how you feel based on the evidence.
Peaceandnamaste · 26-30, F
They call me 3 times a year.

You just have to listen
Do your duty, being picked is one of the most honorable of all civic services, you will have the chance to help acquit a truly innocent person, or put some despicable vermin in prison.
