Apparently if children go to certain places or on certain websites then it is their own fault if they are sexually abused

Is that really how people fucking think??

This place is fucking sick to have people that actually blame children for being victims of abuse. What the fuxk is wrong with you???

I’m fucking done

Couldn’t agree with you more!

We need to safeguard kids. They can never consent to stuff like that, and it’s the adults in their life who are meant to offer guidance and protection, not blame.

If a person thinks in any way it’s a child’s fault when they’re abused, that person is a major red flag and needs to do one.

I’ve already unwittingly stumbled upon some quite unsavoury people on here 😟
@HippyChic They're as close as the picture feed.

ALL the blame goes to the pedophile predators. Period.
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
We all have a duty to look out for and protect children, and to behave like civilised human beings. Just as we do in real life.

The internet is not a consequences-free fantasy world, no matter what some people might like to think.

Whose fault is in when they play on railroad tracks and get hit by a train?

Is it the train's fault or their guardians that let them play unsupervised?

Of course, those committing the sexual abuse need to be punished. But don't blame others instead.

If a kid gets abused by a teacher at school, it's not the bus driver's fault.

@SophieSmiles

Ultimately, the person who commits the crime is the one who needs to be harshly dealt with. And I do mean HARSHLY!

But MY point is that parents/guardians need to take some personal responsbility for letting their children go places online or in the physical world where those children could come upon harm.

And while a parent who gives their 8-year old daughter a cell phone or lets her go unsupervised on the internet may not face the same CRIMINAL responsibility that she would if she left a loaded gun in the house unlocked and the child used it to harm herself or others, I believe it is the PARENT who has the MORAL responsbility to see to it that the daughter doesn't access websites she shouldn't be or sexting on her cell phone, not all adult-related websites ande websites where adult content is discussed.

Therefore, I do NOT agree with, say Nikki Haley, who wants trash our First Amendment and regulate the internet like China does. I get the feeling from your original post that you favor the approach by Haley and the communist Chinese government. Haley wants to PROHIBIT anonymous free speech.

Perhaps you would also want all adults who enter an adult bookstore or subscribe to an adult magazine having to turn over their identifying documents to the government. Perhaps make a list of such persons public (just as Haley proposes that Americans have their full names published along with every social media comment they make). I don't know how you feel about that.

Perhaps you want to ban books that talk about sex, lest someone act on sick fantasies they get from reading them?

So then should we also ban all books, movies and writings that deal with war, lest some future politician, military leader or wannabe dictator act upon the fantasies they get from a Napleonic-power complex?

I mentioned in another post about a certain Austrian paper-hanger who was influcenced towards anti-Semetism and Anschluss with Germany from the 19th century Austrian politician Georg Ritter von Schönerer.

Should adults therefore be prohibited from reading von Schönerer's works lest they be influenced in the way Adolf Hitler was? Should the study of World War II be prohibited in schools less some kid be influenced by Nazism and fascism?

How many religious books should be banned because they talk about sex and conquest?

When you go down the road of censorship, it's a very slippery one.

I say instead deal with the people committing the crime itself. Especially when it comes to preventing REPEAT-offenders.

I've posted many times on SW about sickos who violated restraining orders again and again, eventually murdering their victims because some f'm judge refused to lock them up.

Law enforcement can read posts made online and investigate threats. How many more times must a mass-shooter get away with killing people because no one intervened after reading their online manifestos?

Let's do the things we CAN do without turrning the United States into Ceaușescu's Romania.

@beckyromero you really are a fucking idiot!! I never said I want censorship or blame the website, my post was about another user blaming the victim!! I was groomed and abused when I was 13 and the only person to blame is the sick fucking pedophile who did it
@beckyromero Oh, there we go. Blame the parents of sexual abuse victims. Perfect. While we're at it, let's ask rape victims what they were wearing or what they were doing in that back alley.

Web sites should ban contact between adults and children.

I block any underage account that attempts to contact me.

@Northwest Ok so they don’t. Apologies for not understanding it. My point still stands of the best and really only way to deal with this is to have verification of photo ID. You can put your blocks on but you’re still taking people at their word they didn’t lie about it when they came on.
Northwest · M
@SW-User this is why I’m saying this cannot be done on an anonymous site. I even gave an issue with their face verification thing. Can they guarantee that the site will not be hacked?
SW-User
@Northwest yeah true
Didn’t see the post you’re referring to but I’m pretty sure that mindset is a tiny minority
@SophieSmiles I just went on that post and confronted the one user who was "Just expressing her opinion". If you're interested, bring popcorn, lol.

@LordShadowfire I do t want to hear anymore that she has to say
@SophieSmiles Understandable. She's a real piece of work.
ineedadrink · 51-55, M
Yeah, she is a creep for spewing that line of logic on that post.
vetguy1991 · 51-55, M
Ita a horrible person that blames the victim
Justferfuun1 · 36-40, M
It is never, ever okay.
SubstantialKick · 31-35, M
The parents need to be responsible and watch what their kids are doing.
SophieSmiles · 18-21, F
@SubstantialKick not every child has the luxury of parents!
SubstantialKick · 31-35, M
@SophieSmiles Sad, but true.
MonaMoona · 36-40, F
I’m not a man nor gay or have abused anyone stop accusing me something I haven’t done
SophieSmiles · 18-21, F
@MonaMoona I didn’t accuse you
