Stuff like this is happening in large democrat run cities throughout the country. No one is being prosecuted for shoplifting, looting, etc. so it should be no surprise that retailers are shutting their doors and moving elsewhere. People lose jobs and become more dependent on gov't assistance. The tax base (personal and business) takes a hit making gov't assistance less available.
It all starts with corrupt DAs unwilling to enforce laws and socialist law makers decriminalizing theft.

@BizSuitStacy ... they're trying to turn the West into a 'ghost town' and at the moment, they're succeeding ... like what you said, it's a case of let's impoverish people, shops closing down due to shoplifting, so no jobs, so reliant on gov't handouts ... then it'll be a case of gov't stating:
"We will withhold your ENTITLED benefits if you don't vote for our preferred candidate" ... as they'll know that you can't sue them in Court for withholding benefits due to cost, but the gov't has a bottomess pit of TAXPAYERS money to fight litigants in Court

This is as well happening in Republican run cities. Like with pizza hut. Ironic this has absolutely nothing to do with the cities party allegiances. Or even counties party allegiances, since the city in a Republican run county!
FYI half the businesses went out of business clear across the whole Republican run county since 2016! Ironic that was when Trump was elected and ever since then it's gotten worse and only now is recovering!

I say good riddance to any such businesses!

@tenente Didn't the Bronx run a successful campaign to lure Target only to chase them away with all the crime? Store's shutting down now. Enjoy your empty abandoned buildings, criminals. But at least these abandoned stores should provide housing for the illegals flocking to Democrat-run sanctuary cities.
