Escher Sentences
An Escher sentence, known more formally as a "comparative illusion", is a sentence using a comparison which at first sound logical. But upon closer inspection, you realize the sentence has no meaning at all. For example:
More people have been to Russia than I have.
Like an Escher drawing, it makes sense "locally" but not in the large.
