When did the word 'Gift' become a verb?

The same with 'Guest', everyone's suddenly gifting and guesting everywhere. It's doing my head in 🤣

@exexec Me neither, unless I'm calling someone 'gifted' which means something entirely different. It's a horrendous abomination which has crept into our everyday language out of nowhere.
