I envy girls with really subtle regional accents, not harsh ones like Liverpool or the Midlands. I'm not even sure I could tell you where the ones I like come from but I know them when I hear them! Channel hopping sometimes I listen to the weather from regional areas just for how they sound lol

@LeeInTheNorthWoods no not at all lol.

@VirginMatchmaker Do you say "nawt aht awl"? I'm sure you have an endearing way of speaking.
Like a lot of Americans my age, the only British accents I'd heard were rep-trained actors/actresses until the Beatles came along. I remember listening to a radio interview with them while sitting around with my adolescent girlfriends. The guys were a little hard for us to understand, but we LOVED hearing them talk.
I'm afraid I have an American Redneck accent. As our comedian Jeff Foxworthy says, people immediately deduct 20 points from my IQ when they hear me talk. 😉

@LeeInTheNorthWoods my accent is quite mixed because I've lived all over the north.
I'm from Manchester but live in Liverpool atm lol. I'm incredibly close to places like Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields lol.

You can't beat a posh essex accent.....
Then there was the northerner who took his cat to the vet.
"I'd like e' to look at my cat"
"Is it a tom?"
" No, it's outside in t' car"

I am not a native English speaker, but I like the Dublin accent. The Dubliners use the vowels like we do in Germany. For example, they say "Dooblin". We also spell the u as an oo.
LondonCowboy · 51-55, M
@MissyChrissy I love the way that German’s sound when they speak English 😍
Frank52 · 70-79, M
I like the South Welsh accent (different from the more nasal North) for sentimental reasons of family, but I have grown to love the warm Geordie lilt which always seems welcoming.

I got a ride from a cab driver in London once and his accent was so strong I couldn't understand what he was saying. So I just nodded in agreement with whatever he said during the cab ride. He kind of sounded like the Gallagher brothers.
LeeInTheNorthWoods · 70-79, F
@graphite I once had business meetings with two gentlemen from Manchester. I wasn't quite sure what I was agreeing to. ☺️ But everything turned out okay. LOL.

Queen's English and Scottish. Derbyshire is pretty nice as well.
Moonpenny · F
@Mustermann Thank you!
Derbyshire's a bit chopped in half though, north to south. In the north we're more northern, York's/Lancs and in the south it's a midland accent....Aye up me duck!
