joke:::It was a sunny Saturday morning on the course...🏌

and I was beginning my pre-shot routine, visualizing my upcoming shot, when a voice came over the clubhouse loudspeaker.

"Would the gentleman on the woman's tee back up to the men's tee please!!"

I was still deep in my routine, seemingly impervious to the interruption. Again the announcement, "Would the MAN on the WOMEN'S tee kindly back up to the men's tee."

I simply ignored the guy and kept concentrating, when once more, the man yelled: "Would the man on the woman's tee back up to the men's tee, PLEASE!

I finally stopped, turned, looked through the clubhouse window directly at the person with the mic and shouted back, "Would the person in the clubhouse kindly shut up and let me play my second shot?"

Wait , the rules are different in golf depending on your sex?

@AthrillatheHunt I think the women's driving tee was/is shorter

@bookerdana this makes me respect woman’s soccer players even more. At least they use the same rules and equipment as the men. Unlike the WNBA, and apparently golf .
bookerdana · M
@AthrillatheHunt Not sure if the woman's PGA does that
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M

@AthrillatheHunt AI says correct but this link says no

LPGA Tour pros are not hitting from the “ladies tees.” In fact, most LPGA Tour courses are set up between 6,200 and 6,600 yards—comparable to what most men will play from at their home club. On top of that? The average golfer on the LPGA Tour averages between 230–270 yards off the tee (and a few who top 280 per pop) which is, even on the shorter end of the distance spectrum, 15 yards longer than the average male amateur according to the USGA distance report.

Trackman data says the average male amateur driver clubhead speed is 93.4 mph. For the average LPGA Tour golfer it’s 94 mph. So, the next time you think an LPGA Tour golfer is hitting it short, it’s likely they’re going to hit it past you—and a whole lot straighter, too.

@bookerdana which one do you trust ? Notice the word “most “.
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@bookerdana so a female pro is the same as an amateur man ? That I can believe .
bookerdana · M
@AthrillatheHunt Google AI says not to trust results😀 I have no idea ,haven't played golf in ,like 20 years
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@bookerdana but as an amateur you could still compete on the LPGA tour hahaha
GerOttman · 61-69, M
@AthrillatheHunt They are actually known as the forward tees. Most courses offer at least 3 tee boxes, some as many as 5. Players of different ages, genders, and skill levels can choose the correct tee for their ability. High skill players play from the "tips" or back tees, juniors, seniors, ladies often play forward. There is an adjustment made to the net score based on tee selection.

And thats the simple explanation...
AthrillatheHunt · 51-55, M
@GerOttman thanks for the easy to understand explanation bru. Sounds like if basketball allowed you to choose your own free throw line . Or hockey allowed you to choose your goal/ crease size .
GerOttman · 61-69, M
@AthrillatheHunt If you had 3 freethrow lines and got 1, 2, or 3 points depending on which you used, that would be vlose to the idea.
