How do you tell the difference between a Plumber and a Chemist ?

Ask them to pronounce "unionized"

Top | New | Old
A plumber would likely pronounce "unionized" as "union-ized" (meaning organized into a labor union).

A chemist would pronounce "unionized" as "un-ionized" (referring to a molecule or atom that has not gained or lost electrons, meaning it has no net charge).

@ThaiGirl

Plumber pronounces it "union-ized" because of the union

Chemist pronounces it "un-ion-ized" because of the ions
