I remember LOL when I heard this for the first time:
In an episode of The Twilight Zone titled "Uncle Simon" (1963), the line spoken by the tyrannical Uncle Simon (played by Cedric Hardwicke) to his long-suffering niece Barbara (Constance Ford) is:"You are the only woman I know who looks as if, underneath her clothes, she wore clothes."
He used this specific jab to mock her complete lack of glamour, femininity, and style, painting her as inherently bland and frumpy.
