My afternoon was going pretty smoothly until

I got a call from a number I didn't recognize. On the other end was the principal of Northwood Elementary.
"I'm calling about your son," she began, her tone all business. "He's been telling lies. We're concerned about his behavior."
"My son?" I asked.
She sighed, clearly annoyed. "Yes, your son. He once again told his teacher he was unable to show his homework as his dog ate it and this along with many other excuses he has made is totally unacceptable"
I took a moment, letting the absurdity of it sink in. Then, a slow smile spread across my face. "He sounds like a very talented kid," I replied. "He must be truly gifted, because I don't have any children."

My mom kept getting notes about my attitude in 7th grade so my mom called the school to talk to the teacher. She asked him what is he specifically doing that you dont like the teacher paused said he sits in the back of the class and grins at me, my mom said thats it? He said yes so she asked is there a rule against grinning in class he said no she told him thank you a few days later my mom gave me a note to give to my teacher it said I dont like your attitude get used to him grinning!
